Fox News Channel celebrates its 25th anniversary today, October 7. It’s a date that has special meaning for Jon Scott, anchor of “Fox Report” and an FNC original. “I’ve been a journalist for 41 years, 25 of them at Fox—I was part of the Fox anchor team on Day One,” Scott tells Cynopsis. “It’s astounding to me to look back at how far we’ve come. The established networks wouldn’t let us into the White House coverage pool in those early days because they didn’t think we were big enough to handle the responsibility. Now we’re beating them on a regular basis—and yes, we’re now in the pool. But I don’t think our success has gone to our heads. We’re not sitting in an ivory tower in Manhattan boasting about being #1; we’re just like the Americans whose stories we cover. We work hard. We believe in honesty and treating others with respect. We think ours is the greatest nation in the history of the world, and we hope that by shining a light on its government and people, we can participate in keeping America great.”
