|Marshawn Lynch is becoming an owner of the Professional Fighters League with the Super Bowl champion and former All-Pro running back Marshawn Lynch investing in the league. The league will announce the “BeastMode MMA Fighter of the Night, while an anticipated apparel collection between the former Pro Bowler and company is also expected. Lynch joins PFL’s world-class ownership group, which includes Wiz Khalifa, Ted Leonsis, Kevin Hart, Brandon Beck and Mark Burnett.
“I’m really on that owner hype right now, ya feel me,” said Lynch. “Pro teams, leagues, companies and brands, I’m wit it. NBC Sports prepped for the 147th Kentucky Derby by asking a number of celebrities and NBCUniversal personalities for their horse picks, including Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, Amber Ruffin and more. NBC Sports also revealed its coverage schedule for its 31st season broadcasting Notre Dame Football, highlighted by a pair of primetime games that include USC (Oct. 23) and North Carolina (Oct. 30). After competing as part of the ACC in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Fighting Irish return to an independent schedule this season. The Notre Dame on NBC season kicks off at 2:30p on Sept. 11, when the Fighting Irish host Toledo.
NASCAR and Texas Motor Speedway revealed the format, technical elements, eligibility and pre-race festivities for the 2021 NASCAR All-Star Race. The event, which moves to TMS for the first time in its 36-race history, will see pre-race festivities feature an Old Western theme during driver introductions. The race format will feature six rounds, totaling 100 laps.
