Billups announced the launch of contextual and creative attention metrics for OOH media. The AI-based billups Analytics™ Attention Dashboard is a privacy-compliant platform that provides depth to the quality of OOH impressions, evaluating and adjusting for site-specific features that may impact a viewer’s ability to see and recall an ad. The resulting attention score shows how much more effective the board is at securing attention than others in the market, whereby lower percentages indicate normal performance and higher percentages showcase outstanding attention-grabbing opportunities. “In a crowded media environment, it is critical that advertisers have the precision tools to measure and optimize their campaigns, ensuring their OOH investments drive results,” said Shawn Spooner, Global Chief Technology Officer at billups. “The billups Analytics™Attention Dashboard combines proprietary methodologies with established OOH space-measurement standards, harnessing patented machine learning algorithms and computer vision to more accurately assess how effectively a unit captures and retains viewer attention.”

Invenco by GVR, focused on retail and payment technology, and GSTV announced a retail media product and service offering for mobility and convenience retailers called Engage Media Full-Service – fueled by GSTV. Engage Media Full-Service will leverage Invenco’s retail media technology to deliver a custom content experience with relevant advertising and premium programming along with simplified operational support powered by GSTV. “Retailers are rapidly becoming more aware of the impact of media within the c-store landscape as a tried-and-true method to drive consumer engagement and loyalty,” said Greyson Gsell, Product Marketing Manager, Invenco by GVR. “We’re excited to leverage the power and experience of GSTV to offer retail partners an easy solution to deploy custom, branded content across their estate and benefit from advertising revenue.” Invenco by GVR and GSTV will debut Engage Media Full-Service at the 2024 NACS Show in Las Vegas, October 7-10. The solution is native to Invenco by GVR’s latest payment terminals and requires no additional hardware.

Vistar Media and digital agency PMG have teamed up for Best Wester Hotels & Resorts’ latest DOOH campaign. The campaign is focused on ads within an eight-mile radius of hotel locations using proximity targeting and activated creative tailored to each marketplace location. “Our collaboration with Vistar Media was focused on addressing Best Western’s need for enhanced brand awareness down to the property level,” said Jacklin Shapiro, Programmatic Manager at PMG. “By leveraging Vistar’s dynamic creative and proximity targeting, we developed a programmatic DOOH solution that delivered hyper-local ads to numerous Best Western properties. This approach helped to ensure equitable distribution and visibility for each location, regardless of market size.”

OAAA, OMA (Outdoor Media Association of Australia) and Outsmart (Out of Home Trade Association in the UK) have collaborated with IAB Tech Lab to publish a technical resource to support standardized Programmatic Guaranteed Direct trading across Classic and DOOH media. OpenDirect 2.1 is the updated programmatic trading standard that allows OOH buyers to plan, buy, activate and report directly from premium publishers. OOH screens and billboards can now be discovered, planned, traded, activated and reported using a common data driven trading standard. Features supported in OpenDirect include:
– Searching for managed product inventory and guaranteed deals.
– Determining price and availability.
– Applying targeting and frequency constraints.
– Creating orders and adding lines.
– Uploading creative and assigning creative rules to booking lines.
– Reserving and booking inventory.
– Proof of Posting/Play.

PJX Media announced a strategic partnership with BCN Visuals to combine BCN Visuals’ 3D capabilities with PJX Media’s expertise in delivering impactful campaigns and create immersive experiences in public spaces. Historically, PJX Media has executed about one or two 3D DOOH campaigns per year. However, they plan to democratize access and significantly increase these opportunities through the partnership with BCN Visuals. “I think we’re going to be able to activate in places and tell stories in a way that blurs the line between what is advertising and what is immersive spectacle,” said David Bianca, Chief Creative Officer at BCN Visuals. “We’re in the business of emotions, not media.”
