NEW PRODUCTION & DEVELOPMENT
Starz Animation Toronto (Gnomeo and Juliet), Multiple Media Entertainment (MME), and Gigapix Studios are set to begin production on the stereoscopic CG animated feature film, OZ3D (working title), a humorous and modern adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s classic book, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Budgeted at $20 million, the movie will be directed by Rob Silvestri (Ormie, and he worked on Gnomeo & Juliet as well as the Tim Burton’s animated movie 9) from a script penned by Connor Pritchard (Co-creator TV series Workaholics). Michael Taylor and Drew Craig, both of MME, will executive produce the movie. Worldwide distribution for the film will be handled by MME. MME and Gigapix have entered into a US representation deal with Gigapix Studios’ distribution company, Gigapix Releasing, securing through its newly formed P&A fund, a minimum commitment of $10MM for a theatrical release on a minimum 1,000 screens.

Working with Your Family Entertainment, Heyward says they have completed sales for The Governator including an exclusive broadcast deal with RTL2 (Germany), and deals with ORF (Austria), and SRF (Switzerland), as well as with Cartoon Network Latin America, including Brazil. Further TV deals are expected to be announced soon. As for a US broadcaster deal for The Governator? They are speaking to a number of broadcasters.
