Good morning. It’s Friday, April 13, 2012, and this your first early morning briefing.

Parents magazine will launch a limited-run Parents Radio series on SiriusXM satellite radio tomorrow, Saturday, April 14 at 10a-11a. The six-week series will air each Saturday through May 19 on SiriusXM Stars (www.siriusxm.com/stars) channel 107. Co-hosted by Parents Editor-in-Chief Dana Points and Deputy Editor Diane Debrovner along with radio veteran/host/mom Wesley Weissberg, Parents Radio will feature editors from Parents as well as an array of experts discussing parenting related news, including common parenthood problems and offering their expert advice on health, child behavior and family relationships. The show will also include calls from parents across the country and listeners will be able to ask questions via Facebook and Twitter.

LICENSING

Sony Pictures Consumer Products (SPCP) unveils its worldwide licensing program and some promotional deals to support the release of the upcoming feature film Men In Black 3 (MIB3, PG-13) on May 25, 2012. SPCP has inked licensing deals for MIB3 deals with multiple licensing partners, which feature products that will debut at retail this spring 2012.

  • Worldwide Deals: Gameloft (mobile games); SEE (online game); Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (digital costumes within the existing Little Big Planet game); master toy licensee Jakks (action figures and accompanying accessories, playsets, role-play, novelty, costumes, masks, costume accessories, candy bags, youth electronics, spy gear)  Jakks worked with its Creative Designs and Disguise divisions on some categories; GreenLight (die-cast MIP cards, vehicle wall graphics, and 3D foam paper vehicle model kits); Enterbay (collectible figurines); Factory Entertainment (collectible replicas of props and gadgets from the movie); Kotobukiya (collectible PVC statues); Studio Art & Technology (collectible prop replicas).
  • North America: In the US — Premium Surge (Facebook and Groupon promotion – selling MIB inspired sunglasses with an added value component); T-Line (t-shirts for men and youth). Canada — Haggar (of men’s/boy’s apparel and accessories including suits, shirts, ties, sweatshirts and hats)  the exclusive line will be available only at Sears Canada
  • International: Cotton Division (t-shirts and sleepwear) for France; MMmedia (shirts) various European territories; Arguydal (charms) for France, Belgium, and Luxembourg; in an exclusive deal retailer Celio will offer T-shirts, belts, belts and buckles, jackets, pants, shirts, ties, cufflinks, and footwear throughout Belgium, France, Greece, Luxembourg, Morocco, and Tunisia; Dragon Model (figurines) in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia; Panini (stickers and sticker books) in Brazil.

Fathead (www.fathead.com), a licensed and custom wall graphics company, debuts The Hunger Games Collection of wall graphics. The special edition of eight action images features characters from the film adaptation of author Suzanne Collins’ popular book The Hunger Games, including a mural close-up of Katniss Everdeen and life-sized, individual die-cut Real.Big’s (high definition images made of durable, high-grade vinyl that are tear and fade resistant) of Katniss (with bow and arrow) and Gale Hawthorne, along with tribute Peeta Mellark, as well as die-cut of all three characters on one sheet.

Tween girl targeted fashion brand Lil’panda, which launched in 2009 in the US, unveils its inaugural licensees. Slated for a spring 2013 product release, Lil’panda and TK Brand Group, Lil’panda’s licensing agency, has teamed with licensees including: American Greetings (greeting cards); Bioworld Merchandising (headwear, gloves, scarves, sweatshirts, bags, wallets, coin purses, hosiery, audio accessories, and lanyards); Evy of California (girls sportswear); Gund (plush); Jerry Leigh of California (junior and girls tops).

MORE KIDS STUFF

Nicktoons will premiere pro skateboarder and entrepreneur Rob Dyrdek‘s (MTV’s Rob & Big, Fantasy Factory and Ridiculousness) new animated series Wild Grinders (26×30) on Friday, April 27 at 7p. Based on Dyrdek’s life, Wild Grinders is a comedy that follows the adventures of Lil Rob, his talking dog Meaty, his best friend Goggles, and their middle school skate crew, known as Wild Grinders. Created and executive produced by Dyrdek, the series is produced in partnership with Home Plate Entertainment and Dyrdek’s Four Down Productions. Agogo Corporation, Moonscoop, Telegael and Copernicus Studios are also co-producers on the HD production. Wild Grinders will air regularly on Fridays at 7p on Nicktoons. The Wild Grinders voice cast includes Dyrdek as Lil Rob and Gene, Chelsea Chanel Dudley (the rapping receptionist from the Fantasy Factory) as FLIPZ, Sterling Brim (Dyrdek’s co-host on MTV’s Ridiculousness) Meaty. Kel Mitchell (Kenan & Kel) as Jay Jay; and Erin Fitzgerald (Ed, Edd & Eddy, Monster High) as Stubford. The Wild Grinders TV series is distributed internationally by Moonscoop, who also serves as the consumer products provider/supplier.

Astral’s Disney Junior in Canada will celebrate the new animated adventure series Tickety Toc with a weeklong marathon Monday-Friday, April 23-27 with episodes premiering daily at 5:30p. Set in an old clock shop, Tickety Toc follows twins Tommy and Tallulah and their friends, who all live inside the wooden Tickety Toc Clock, as they learn to work together to keep the old clock ticking and chiming. Select episodes from Tickety Toc’s premiere week will be available on Disney Junior OnDemand beginning Friday, April 27.

Discovery Networks International acquires Monster Entertainment’s short-form animated preschool series I’m a Creepy Crawly (52×2) for its Central/ South Asian, India and Pacific Rim territories. Set for delivery in June 2012, I’m a Creepy Crawly has already pre-sold to 60 territories with other broadcasters onboard including RTE (Ireland), YLE (Finland), DR (Denmark), and in Canada – TVO, Knowledge Network and BBC Canada, Noga (Israel) and Educarse (Argentina). Discovery has also picked up the preschool series I’m a Dinosaur and I’m a Monster. I’m a Creepy Crawly features animated insects providing kids with all sorts of information, even some gross facts, about their habitats, what their jobs are, how they survive, and how humans totally misunderstand the creepy crawlies.
