The Madison Square Garden Company notified the SEC of its plan to spin off its entertainment business with an eye to focus on sports. The move would be complete in the first quarter of 2020, with the Dolan family, overseeing both entities once completed. In addition to the Knicks and Rangers, the sports-centric company’s portfolio would also include Knicks Gaming, the official NBA 2K esports franchise of the New York Knicks, as well as a majority interest in Counter Logic Gaming, as well as the company’s pro sports team Training Center
The entertainment spinoff would house venues that include Madison Square Garden, Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall and Beacon Theatre, the Forum in Inglewood and the Chicago Theater in addition to the upcoming MSG Sphere in Las Vegas, among other businesses.
CBS Sports is giving its golf roster a shakeup for the 2020 season, announcing a slate of moves that include: Frank Nobilo expanding his role to serve as an analyst for the full CBS Sports golf season; Masters Champion Trevor Immelman joining as an analyst contributing to the Network’s PGA TOUR coverage as well as CBS Sports’ cross-platform coverage of the Masters and PGA Championship; Dottie Pepper elevated to lead on-course reporter; analyst and coach Mark Immelman increasing his duties with the golf team this season; Andrew Catalon upping his golf duties on the broadcast side, serving as host for select PGA TOUR events; and the addition of Michelle Wie as a contributor to CBS Sports’ multimedia golf coverage this season, including the Masters. Earlier this year, Davis Love III was also announced as full-time golf analyst for CBS Sports. For the 2020 golf season, newcomers Trevor Immelman and Love will join veterans Jim Nantz, Nick Faldo, Ian Baker-Finch, Nobilo, Pepper, Mark Immelman, Amanda Balionis and Catalon throughout CBS Sports’ coverage.
ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC will offer more than 140 live hours of the UEFA European Football Championship 2020 starting June 12 next year with the opening match in Rome, through the Final on Sunday, July 12, at Wembley Stadium in London. The 51 matches of the quadrennial international competition will be played across 12 European cities. ESPN will televise 39 UEFA EURO 2020 matches, while ESPN2 will air seven. ABC Television Network will broadcast five matches (two group stage matches, two round of 16, and one quarterfinal) – the first UEFA European Football Championship match on network since 2008. ESPN match telecasts for the UEFA European Football Championship will include pregame, halftime and postgame studio segments.
