Fullscreen will acquire YouTube channel Rooster Teeth, and boost RT’s live events and merchandise businesses while integrating it into its own network. Additionally, Fullscreen will help develop current RT content production and bring new premium programming to the channel. RT is known for shows Red vs. Blue, The Gauntlet and The Slow Mo Guys, and boasts eight million subscribers. Financial details were not disclosed.

Endemol Beyond USA made a deal with comedian Andy Milonakis, known for his eponymous show, which was produced by Jimmy Kimmel and broadcast on MTV and MTV2 from 2002 to 2007. Milonakis will create projects with Endemol, starting with web series Andy’s Hungry Voyage and an updated version of his MTV series Milonakis 2.0. The series will premiere on the comedian’s three YouTube channels as well as Endemol’s channel.
Netflix continues to expand its children’s programming with a new spinoff series from Guru Studio’s animated Justin Time. Justin Time: The New Adventures will get consist of 13 episodes and arrive on Netflix in 2016.
Multi-channel network DanceOn signed a deal with the Joffrey Ballet School to be their official channel partner. To kick things off, the companies created a YouTube influencer campaign and contest promoting the first annual Elite Dance Tournament. The series features dancers from Complexions Contemporary Ballet and the Joffrey, with the first four episodes pirouetting onto DanceOn and the Joffrey YT channel on Nov. 12.
Machinima is rebooting its image and network with a new logo and tagline “Heroes Rise.” Machinima also launched the new Level Up Talent Program to spend more time funding programming on the network, CEO Chad Gustein told the Wall Street Journal.
Underdogs, the Emmy-nominated digital video series from Sports Illustrated, debuts its third season on Nov. 13 on SI.com. Each week, SI will introduce new episodes of football team “Underdogs” such as Huron High School in Ann Arbor MI, Kittanning High School in Kittanning PA and L.B. Landry-O.P. Walker High School in New Orleans.

Crackle will release the latest Playing It Forward original concert series with Grammy award-winning band Imagine Dragons on Nov. 21. The documentary-style music series is produced by Team Downey, an entertainment company founded by Robert Downey Jr. and wife Susan Downey, with Crackling donating to the charity of the artist’s choice each episode.
The sixth season of Community – to hit Yahoo! Screen next year – added new cast members Paget Brewster (Criminal Minds) and Keith David (Enlisted). The show saw two departures in season five earlier this fall – Yvette Nicole Brown and Donald Glover.
President Obama isn’t wavering on the issue of net neutrality. In a statement explaining why he is urging the FCC to implement “the strongest possible rules” to protect an open Internet, the President said “it is essential to the American economy, and increasingly our very way of life…We cannot allow Internet service providers to restrict the best access or to pick winners and losers in the online marketplace for services and ideas.”

Whirlpool launched a new digital video campaign with DigitasLBi and Upworthy called Perceptions of Care, telling stories of families taking care of their children and aging parents. The two videos are available on Whirlpool and Upworthy. Whirlpool will also sponsor several curated videos to continue the PoC message.
AD PLATFORMS
Exclusive: Advertising management software provider for cable, IPTV and OTT networks Broadway Systems announced the latest Broadway Version 7.1. New features include Deal Change Cockpit to maximize workflow, improved Spot Placement and Break Timing to help programmers use the quick modification process to maximize inventory. “Advertising deals, particularly in the cable television space, have become increasingly complex with networks needing an amazingly robust system to meet the needs of this rapidly changing marketplace, not just for their linear offerings, but digital and VOD as well. Broadway Systems fulfills those needs,” Executive Chairman James Ackerman told Cynopsis. Broadway Systems completed the three successful network launches using the Broadway Systems’ solution, including pivot, The Smithsonian Channel and the WWE Network.
MediaMath acquired Rare Crowds, a tech company providing audience targeting solutions across display, mobile, video and social platforms. Rare Crowds CEO and co-founder Eric Picard will join MediaMath as Vice President of Strategic Partnerships.
MOBILE GAMING + APPS
Glu Games announced that Kim Kardashian’s iOS mobile game Kim Kardashian Hollywood made $43.4 million in Q3. The game has been download 22.8 million times, and played for 5.7 billion minutes.
Bravo launched Real Housewives Stickermojis app with the premiere of the Real Housewives of Atlanta yesterday. The app can be used through email, text, Facebook and Twitter and features more than 100 emojis featuring the Housewives and their signature phrases.
Instagram instituted a host of changes for users, including caption editing, a People tab and typeahead search features. The update for iOS and Android devices also improves the “explore” feature on the app so users can find photos and people more easily, as well as allow editing of captions and typos after a post is made.
