In syndication the week of October 16, Judge Judy was up 2% in Live+SD to hit 6.7, making it the top-rated show in syndication for the ninth time in 10 weeks…. Live with Kelly and Ryan rose 5% (to 2.3) for its highest rating in over 5 months, placing second to Dr. Phil (3.4, down 3%) in the talk category….Among magazine shows, only Entertainment Tonight and Extra, steady at 3.0 and 1.2, respectively, were able to avoid ratings dips.
Sunday night’s finale of Halloween Wars on Food Network posted a .7 rating (660,000 IMP) among P25-55, a 7% increase from last year’s finale. The season averaged a .75 rating (670,000 IMP) and was up 6 percent versus last season.
Back at 9p, Fox News’ Hannity was the most-watched cable news program in October, with 3.2 million total viewers and 686,000 among A25-54. Hannity grabbed the cable crown from MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show (2.5 million viewers and 558,000 A25-54), which slipped to third place after FNC’s Tucker Carlson Tonight (2.82 million viewers and 581,000 in the demo).
The debut of Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle on Monday was the number one cable news show at 10p, delivering 3.3 million viewers and 622,000 among A25-54, up 29% in viewers and 10% in the demo versus the 2017 time slot average to date.
On Saturday, Oct. 21, Dr. Jeff: Rocky Mountain Vet delivered a season high in Total Viewers P2+ (1.44 million) in L+3. The episode helped Animal Planet break into ad-supported cable’s Top 6 among viewers (#6) during its time period. Immediately following, My Big Fat Pet Makeover, drove Animal Planet back into ad-supported cable’s Top 10 among key demos that included A25-54 (#9), W25-54 (#9) and A18-49 (#9).
In its second week on air, Univision’s new 10p series Caer en Tentacion (Into Temptation) attracted 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+, 579,000 A18-49 and 266,000 A18-34. Rosa de Guadalupe grew the time period over the previous week and attracted 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+ (+9%) and 629,000 A18-49 (+7%).
Last week, UniMas saw double-digit audience gains among Total Viewers 2+ (+33% to 552,000), A18-49 (+30% to 246,000) and A18-34 (+21% to 91,000) versus the comparable week last year.

Jennifer Danielson is joining Comedy Central as Senior Vice President, Digital, overseeing the creative and editorial voice of all digital content creation. Previously, Danielson was President of Broadway Video’s Above Average.
Shari Rosenblum and Chris Kaspers have been promoted to Senior Vice President, and Vice President, Publicity, at Twentieth Century Fox Television.
Bruce Karsh has exited his position as chairman of the Tribune Media board of directors and resigned from the board. “Given the overwhelmingly successful shareholder vote and the continued progress being made toward the company’s merger with Sinclair Broadcast Group, now is the right time for me to step down,” said Karsh.
