Cynopsis Social Good Awards honors those civic-minded professionals who find a way to utilize the media industry as a tool for social good. With a panel of judges who’ll benchmark excellence in the area of social good in the TV and entertainment industry, we will be honoring everything from sustainability partnerships and PSA’s, to diversity campaigns, environmental initiatives, and more. Winners will be recognized at the 4th annual awards event next spring in New York City.

  • Nonprofit/Corporate Partnership

    Recognizing an outstanding alliance between a corporation and non-profit organization to achieve a social good goal, with measurable results.

  • Use of Talent to Promote Social Good

    Recognizing the use of talent in programming, a marketing campaign, PSA, event or other endeavor to promote a prosocial initiative.

  • Social Good Partnership – Local

    Recognizing a partnership between a content creator, distributor, platform, agency, corporation, nonprofit and/or any media company to achieve a social good goal with measurable results on a local level.

  • Social Good Partnership – National/International

    Recognizing a partnership between a content creator, distributor, platform, agency, corporation, nonprofit and/or any media company to achieve a social good goal with measurable results on a national or international level.

  • Social Good Corporate – Community Partnership

    Recognizing an outstanding alliance between a corporation and a community organization to achieve a social good goal, with measurable results.

    Recognizing an outstanding alliance between a corporation and a media organization to achieve a social good goal, with measurable results.

Leaders

  • Social Good Leaders of the Year

    Recognizing the social good movers in your organization, whether they are in the PR, Marketing or Programming departments or in the C-Suite. All levels may apply and will be judged relative to their title and company size. We're looking for individuals who are leading social good strategies within their media or brand organization or for their clients. Multiple leaders will be recognized in this category.

Rules of Entry

Overview

The Cynopsis Social Good Awards are open to all individuals and teams worldwide—corporate, agency, association, governmental agency or nonprofit—of any size is eligible to enter. Vendors are also eligible to compete on behalf of client. The program is open to national and international entrants. Multiple entries are accepted, and a single entry can be entered into more than one category.

Entries are open to Radio and OOH companies as warranted.

Eligibility Period

To be eligible, the entry/campaign initiative must have taken place (either in part or full) between November 2016 and November 2017. The program or initiative must have been initiated during this time but it’s not necessary for it to be completed during the eligibility period.

Entry Deadline: Wednesday, December 20, 2017 by 11:59pm ET

Late Entry Deadline: Wednesday, December 27, 2017 by 11:59pm ET*

*All entries made after the 12/20 deadline will receive an added late fee of $175/entry.

Rates

The price of each primary entry is $375. If you are submitting a secondary entry for the same campaign into two or more categories, the price drops to $199 for each additional entry.

How are the entries judged?
Entries are judged by a blue chip panel of corporate, agency, nonprofit and academic executives, as well as by the staff of Cynopsis Media. We evaluate your entry based on creativity, innovation, sound planning implementation and results. Our most important criterion is proven success in aligning your strategic objectives with your end goals.

Who is eligible to win an award?

When are the deadlines?
All entries must be submitted online by December 20, 2017 at 11:59pm EST. Entries submitted between December 20 and December 27, 2017, will automatically incur a $175 late fee, per entry. Finalists will be notified from late January to Spring 2018.

How do I increase my chances of winning an award?
Provide as many concrete and specific examples of success as possible. Also, supporting materials like video, screenshots and graphs are very helpful.

When will I be notified about the status of my entry?
Cynopsis Media staff will contact you only if you are named a finalist in the awards program. Finalists are notified via email 30-40 days in advance of the Awards Event.

Must we include our campaign budget?
It’s not a requirement, but it helps the judges to better compare your campaign against other entries. Include at least a reasonable budget range. The judges always take into account the campaign budget relative to the goals and outcome. All information is confidential and will not be published.
