Unlike many of the other streamers and networks in Hollywood, Apple TV doesn’t play outside commercials or work with brand sponsors – except in live sports. Still, the tech company’s ads business has apparently gotten a huge boost from its partnership with Formula 1, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
- For Apple TV’s inaugural F1 season, viewership is reportedly up double digits compared to when ESPN aired races last season. More importantly for advertisers, brand lift studies on F1 sponsors including American Express and Ford, yielded positive results in familiarity, favorability and purchase intent, beating overall streaming TV benchmarks in the US.
- Apple Ads VP Todd Teresi claims that the company’s goal is not to “grow advertising at all costs,” but to create a “balanced model” for the consumer and advertiser alike.
- The Takeaway: Traditionally, success with ad sales begets even more ads, not less – but maybe the relative scarcity of Apple’s advertising placements is a benefit in this case.
Mon dieu. The current state of civil unrest in France, which began with nationwide demonstrations on Oct. 17 and has since evolved into waves of violent protests, could prove disruptive to the country’s film and TV industry.
- France is a popular destination for Hollywood TV and film projects due to the country’s scenic beauty. Season 4 of HBO’s “The White Lotus” is currently filming there , along with Bradley Cooper’s “Ocean’s Eleven” prequel and the psychological thriller “Pumping Black.”
- These production shoots have not yet been interrupted by current events, although the violence spurred warnings from Hollywood security experts.
- The national circumstances have also sparked concerns over live TV events occurring in the country, including the NFL’s first game in Paris between the New Orleans Saints and the Pittsburgh Steelers Oct. 25.

With the Skydance merger now closed, CNN International still plans to start selling ads through agentic AI beginning in Q1 next year. The exact results – and the proportion of ad sales that AI will ultimately take over – remain uncertain, but the network maintains that the plan is proceeding as scheduled. For now, the testing process involves seeing how efficiently buy- and sell-side agents communicate with each other and how accurately the large language models that buyer agents rely on can assess media plans.

Casey Bloys, co-chair and chief content officer of Skydance’s DTC division, unveiled his senior executive leadership team: Nancy Abraham, Sarah Aubrey, Jeff Cusson, Francesca Orsi, Amy Gravitt, Lisa Heller, Nina Rosenstein and Glenn Whitehead. If those names sound familiar, it’s because it’s the same team Bloys managed when he was chairman and CEO of HBO and HBO Max content. On the flip side, Jane Wiseman, head of Paramount+ Originals, is leaving Skydance. Her team will instead report to Aubrey.
