Germany? Brazil? Argentina? Netherlands? Cynopsis wants to know – Who will win the 2014 FIFA World Cup?
You’ll have a chance to win a $25 Nike.com eGift by answering our poll. DEADLINE: July 13 ||| CLICK HERE TO ENTER
The week of June 30, ABC World News was the only nightly broadcast news program to improve in total viewers, A24-54 and A18-49 versus last week and last year.
At least someone was happy. While the Germany left Brazilians devastated after defeating the World Cup home team 7-1 on Tuesday, an average 32.6 million Germans back home – 87.8 percent of the country – was glued to the set.
Stateside, the FIFA match averaged a 4.2 rating on ESPN and 6.64 million viewers, according to Nielsen, the highest-rated and most viewed semifinal game ever on American television.
But not everyone’s been watching soccer. While most syndicated show ratings were soft the week ending June 29, several entertainment mags saw upticks, including The Insider and Extra (both up 8 percent to 1.3), TMZ (up 6 percent to 1.8) and ET Weekend (up 7 percent to 1.6).
Among syndie talkers, Live with Kelly & Michael dipped 4 percent for a 2.5HH rating tie at the top with Dr. Phil, while Maury jumped 6 percent to tie for third place with Ellen (1.9).
Sunday’s one-two punch of Botched and Keeping up with the Kardashians kept E! up in the ratings, propelling the net to its best primetime deliveries in nearly two years: number one among A18-34 (705,000)and W18-34 (524,000) to outperform all other cable networks for the night.
TNT’s Rizzoli & Isles rose to 7.5 million viewers in Live + 3 delivery, including 2.4 million adults 25-54 and 1.9 million adults 18-49.
Adult Swim‘s Loiter Squad on Thursday topped its time period among targeted adults and men, with year-over-year double-digit gains: up 19 percent among A18-24, up 32 percent among A18-34, up 33 percent among A18-49, up 12 percent among M18-24, up 34 percent among M18-34 and up 40 percent among M18-49.
Bravo was the number one cable network in primetime Sunday among P18-49 and P25-54. The season finale of The Real Housewives of Atlanta: Kandi’s Wedding delivered 2.8 million total viewers, making it the highest-rated episode of the season and number unscripted cable telecast of the day among P18-49 and P25-54. Watch What Happens Live, with guests Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker, drew 2.7 million total viewers and over 1.3 million P18-49.
