UPFRONT BRIEFS
NBCUniversal’s Upfront pitch to advertisers can be summed up in three words: brand safety and scale. Advertising chief Linda Yaccarino did not shy away from the term “objectionable content” in a nod to platforms like Google. New anchor Megyn Kelly, veteran Lester Holt were on hand along with the cast of “The Today Show” to tout programs like “This Is Us” and the Winter Olympics.
Fox Networks Group and NBC are enabling Moat’s Video Quality Score across all on-demand viewing environments, and collaborating to bring Moat measurement to linear TV. FNG will guarantee against Moat’s Video Quality Score for the FNG portions of any campaign that implements Moat campaign-wide. Fox dedicated an entire 15 minutes early on to its sports properties during the first half of its presentation.
SOCIAL MEDIA
The arms race that is augmented reality picked up a new armament as Instagram added AR face filters to its offerings. They include eight different filters along with a few different crowns. Now you can look like a koala or a rabbit and depict math equations spinning around your head.

The ListenFirst Television Interest (TVI) Rating (TM) is a standardized measurement of the most buzzed-about TV programs on linear TV and streaming services. A complement to ListenFirst’s other syndicated data products (such as the ListenFirstDigital Audience Rating – TV), the metrics included in the rating capture organic actions that are largely unaffected by paid media. Programs that surface on the TVI leaderboards are the most hashtagged on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and Tumblr, as well as most searched for on Wikipedia (used as a proxy for organic search volume).
