03/20/15: MyCN premieres latest series ’46 Hours’; Hulu nabs exclusive streaming rights to ‘Empire’; Smashbox unveils media style influencer program

Hot commodity: Hulu snagged exclusive streaming rights for “all past and future episodes” of Fox mega hit Empire. The just-ended season is available now; future episodes will land on Hulu Plus the day after air on Fox.
Cynopsis Exclusive: My Country Nation (MyCN) added new series 46 Hours, offering fans an intimate look into the lives of country stars. The first five-minute installment spotlights Atlantic Records and CMA New Artist of the Year Brett Eldredge and is available to view on MyCountryNation.com. Previously announced lineup includes Karoke Kab, Superfan Nation, Young In The Nation, Made In The USA, This Week In The Nation, Bloodline Barons, Camping With
Kids and Simply Sara.
Univision announced its first series mobile game app, for Nuestra  Belleza Latina (Our Latin Beauty). NBL fans will be able to play games along with contestants and former queens from the show, and hang out in the “Club de Belleza” gallery, updated throughout the season with photos and videos of current contestants. The Android app is now live; iOS app will launch later this month.
On the heels of the launch of Essence’s pop-culture video series 7 Things We’re Talking About, infotainment show Fashion Closet and My First Festival, Essence debuted Essence Live yesterday. The live-streaming weekly half-hour talk-show is available Thursdays from 4-4:30p ET on Essence.com. “As an extension of our editorial and live-event franchises, Essence.com has tripled its video content and streams over the past year, resulting in a 56 percent increase in video uniques,” said Essence President Michelle Ebanks.

Smashbox Cosmetics unveiled Made at Smashbox, a program with Collective Digital Studio for media style influencers to shoot fashion and entertainment content for major campaigns and magazine covers. Makeup artists, stylists and professional studio service will be available to the social media celebs in addition to Smashbox’s photo/video workshops led by founder Davis Factor and other top L.A. photographers and directors tastemakers. James Chen will serve as Creative Director.
Opera Mediaworks launched its first premium mobile exchange, Opera Select. “As the mobile ecosystem moves toward an increasingly programmatic future, we are excited about the ways Opera Select supports that mission,” OM’s Falguni Bhuta said in a blog post. “The ability to run the highest-quality, rich media display ads on the highest-quality sites and apps is an important first step, but it’s just the start.”
