PRODUCTION & DEVELOPMENT

Netflix greenlit a new series from Marie Kondo (Tidying Up with Marie Kondo). Sparkling Joy with Marie Kondo hails from Alfred Street Industries, the new production company set up by Magical Elves founders and Project Runway producers Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz, and is executive produced by the duo alongside Kondo, Takumi Kawahara and Dan Volpe. National Anthem centers on a middle class, midwestern family tumbling down the ladder of American society, who periodically burst into song. Bone Burnett is attached as the series’ music producer.

Butch Kaplan (The Notebook, Fear the Walking Dead, Devs) will serve as Executive Producer and Showrunner on Nucleus Media Rights’ upcoming drama Heresy. The series, which tells the story of a young woman who fights the Holy Inquisition, is a co-production with Italian producer 3zero2 and stars Rudolf Martin (Ford vs. Ferrari, NCIS).
