What you will do
The Sales Assistant is an entry level position with growth potential on our Ad Sales team. In this role, you will provide full support to, and manage day-to-day maintenance of all accounts for, the Ad Sales team by performing the essential duties and responsibilities:
- Maintain agency accounts including upfront and scatter order entry, inventory moves, and product allocations and Electronic Data Interchange, flowcharts, change notices, handling program changes, booking billboards for marketing sponsorships.
- Assist Account Executives, Sales Planner and Pricing Inventory in managing day-to-day Ad sales responsibilities including editing PowerPoint presentations and Excel spreadsheets.
- Communicate daily with Traffic Department to ensure proper booking of all components of deals.
- Create and maintain quarterly flighting grid.
- Perform weekly dollars checks, preemptions.
- Work with agency buyers on a daily basis to maintain integrity of media buy.
- Compile information for Sales team (i.e. marketplace data, account overview documents, special projects, etc.).

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Communication or equivalent from a four-year college; Prior internship experience in sales and/or media industry a plus. Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Essential Functions

SUMMARY/POSITION OVERVIEW
The VP, Content Acquisitions plays a key leadership role in content-licensing efforts for the ad-supported linear network and digital platform. Working closely with the SVP of Programming as the top-level position, this role has full accountability for the task of acquiring quality, branded content with the skills and experience to conduct complex, high profile negotiations that supports strategic scheduling strategies that will maximize ratings and revenue potential in all dayparts. The VP must set an example of working effectively and respectfully with colleagues at all levels.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Acquisitions:
- Takes the lead on high level negotiations with studios and independent content providers.
- Initiates and establishes strategic relationships with studios and major content distributors to achieve and expand our programming content and (distribution) goals across multiple platforms.
- Leads a research team to track and evaluate potential content opportunities to drive scheduling strategies.
- Oversees the creative packaging, TV formatting and overall processing of all content for linear and distribution, reviews and coordinates contract preparations between Legal Affairs, SVP of Programming and Content Title Management.
- Directs subordinates who oversee assigned program acquisitions and scheduling activities.
- Translates corporate programming strategies into short-term and long-term acquisitions.
- This role requires a high level of collaboration across many internal teams: Coordinate programming strategies with multiple internal departments such as Research, Content Title Management, Scheduling, Ad Sales, Finance, Marketing, Legal & Business Affairs, Network Operations and external content providers.
- Responsible for preparing all associated annual budgets and monthly budget analysis.
- Oversees content screening for branding, reformatting, evaluation and analysis.
- Studies ratings and lagging indicators.
- Attends Markets, Programming Conventions and Festivals as requested with a special emphasis on seeking out new content, distributor relationships and producers.
- Develops support materials and communications such as fact sheets and detailed program descriptions. Creates tracking status reports and presentations for meetings and management.
Network Scheduling
- Implements and oversees the scheduling strategies (“Flights”) for all movie program content – working closely with SVP of Programming and Director of Scheduling.
- Oversees distribution of programming information and communication to Network’s internal departments including: Research, Legal & Business Affairs, Finance, Communications & Marketing.
Budgets/ Financials:
- Works with SVP of Programming, Finance, Legal and Network Management in preparation of annual Programming Acquisitions budget.
- Oversees the set up and monitoring of payment schedules for Acquired content.
- Assists in monitoring Monthly Budget Reports, As Runs and Financials.
- Minimum 5-7 years of cable TV network experience in acquisitions that includes a strong background in the television and movie industry, content sales or distribution.
- Bachelor's degree in Film, Television Production, Business or related field, or commiserate experience preferred.
- Expert knowledge of the film industry, linear television market, and the digital-distribution landscape, with command of market- and competitive analysis and the ability to strategically assess opportunities and make data-driven decisions.

- Measure and report social media performance to optimize sharing strategies and provide guidance to stakeholders to improve engagement
- Quickly respond to news with social-native content, amplifying important stories with multimedia, graphics, live tweeting, tweet threads or other social tools
- Collaborate with marketing team to promote special projects, major events, sponsored webinars, new products and other diverse initiatives
- Work with Learn Editor to develop a social strategy around CoinDesk’s educational content that appeals to an audience new to crypto
- Develop and implement strategies to promote ongoing editorial franchises, including newsletters, podcasts and shows
- Work across editorial, multimedia, events and other teams to develop and execute social strategies from news content to longer campaigns
- Research competitors and deliver recommendations to help inform social media strategy
- Explore, leverage and experiment with untapped social platforms and tools to reach new audiences
- Moderate social media comments and messages, identifying opportunities to engage directly with users on behalf of the CoinDesk brand, especially on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram
- 3-5 years of experience managing social media for a media company or comparable organization
- Impeccable writing and editing command and ability to execute various tones for different target audiences
- Familiarity with financial and cryptocurrency news
- Proven success at creating and packaging social media content that drives engagement
- Ability to think outside the box and drive engagement through creative solutions with niche audiences
- Thorough knowledge of social media production, management and analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Parsley, Chartbeat and Sprout
- Deep familiarity with managing Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube and other off-site platforms including TikTok, WhatsApp, Telegram, Reddit and Discord
- Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively, and have a proactive approach to executing deliverables
- Ability to handle short-term and long-term goals for various projects on deadline in a fast-paced, news-driven organization
- AP style experience a strong plus
- Video, design and multimedia production experience a strong plus

Family Entertainment Television (FETV), in New York, NY is looking for an experienced media Executive Assistant who is creative, optimistic and looking to be a part of an extraordinary company.
The Executive Assistant will assist the Executive Vice President with day to day activities and projects which impact overall New York operations; and provide support to the NY office as assigned by the EVP for a variety of tasks.
Responsibilities include:
- Act as liaison between Executives and a wide array of internal and external contacts.
- Screen and direct phone calls, draft and distribute correspondence as needed.
- Schedule meetings.
- Arrange travel schedule and organize travel arrangements with the travel department on behalf of EVP and other NY executives.
- Manage office supply closet and kitchen with updates and overall cleanliness
- Prepare expense reports for EVP, SVP and occasionally other NY sales executives.
- Update regular reports as needed.
- Process invoices.
- Create and maintain Sales correspondence list.
- Create and maintain Sales Policies and Procedures documents.
- Schedule meetings and update/maintain upfront calendar.
- Assist NY executives with special events/meeting set ups, preparing supplies, food orders and special items as needed.
- Conduct research, prepare documents and gather information for correspondence and meetings.
- Maintain the highest level of discretion and confidentiality.
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
High school diploma required, Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
2-4 years of experience as an Executive Assistant, preferably in media.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook.
Ability to multitask, detail oriented, proactive, accustomed to working under deadlines, coachable, adapts positively and quickly to change.
Excellent written, verbal, communication skills and with high level of accuracy required.
A self-starter with strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently as well as thrive in a team environment.
Flexibility and receptiveness in learning new tasks, and managing time and priorities.
Desire to move ahead but patience to wait for the next opportunity.
