Data Cleaning: Data Cleaning (also called Data Cleansing or Data Scrubbing) is the process of detecting, and then correcting or removing, inaccurate or corrupt records from a database, record set, or table.
Twitter’s Vine has officially ceased to exist, at least as we knew it. But the service’s six seconds of fame haven’t quite come to an end: As previously announced, Twitter has replaced Vine’s Android and iOS apps with a pared-down app called Vine Camera. Vine Camera still allows users to create short looping videos, but Vine is no longer a standalone network; users have to save videos on their phones or post them directly to Twitter. Still, Vine’s website will stay up and running, at least for now.
Sony’s Crackle just lost its oldest original show – and its biggest star. As first reported by Variety, Jerry Seinfeld’s ‘Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee’ is moving to Netflix starting in late 2017. Its most recent – and, as it turns out, final – season on Crackle debuted earlier this month. The show’s next season will be its 10th. Seinfeld’s new move comes as part of a wider production deal with Netflix, which will also see the production of two Netflix-exclusive stand-up specials. The news comes just days after the announcement that Sony Entertainment head Michael Lynton is leaving the company for Snapchat parent Snap Inc.

For the first time in history, live-streamed Super Bowl ads will contain dynamically inserted local ads. The FoxSportsGo.com live-stream of the big game will show local ads to viewers based on where they’re watching. Over 170 U.S. Fox affiliates have reportedly partnered with Fox Sports to sell and deliver local digital spots for the game. Super Bowl LI (that’s 51 for the Roman numeral illiterate) will air on February 5.
Ad-buying platform Centro announced some new features. Centro says that it’s rolling out “API connections with all major ad servers and self-service buying platforms of large publishers.” The idea is to give Centro’s team automatic access to performance data for a campaign, which will save time on tasks such as data cleaning and source merging. Centro also says that, with the new update, new messaging modules will let Centro track vendor communications through all phases of a campaign from a single view.
Media services agency Horizon Media announced that HX, its programmatic ad-buying unit, has chosen tech provider Adbrain as its primary cross-device partner. Horizon says that, as a result of the partnership, HX will be able to use cross-device ID mapping in any programmatic platform across its network.
Roku’s new mobile companion app features a significant upgrade. Available for both iOS and Android, the app comes equipped with a new universal program guide. Called What’s On, the section comes equipped with content recommendations, sorted by categories such as “Top Kids Shows” and Superhero Hits.” The section brings a curatorial approach that was absent in My Feed, the personalized content feature introduced in Roku’s previous app. Unlike with My Feed, What’s On users don’t have to put energy into tracking their favored content. The My Feed section is still available, but has essentially been folded into the new What’s On guide.
Acorn TV is doing pretty well for itself. The RLJ Entertainment-owned streaming service, which specializes in U.K. programming, announced that it ended 2016 with 430,000 subscribers. That’s double the 195,000 subs that it had just a year earlier. RLJ also says that its Urban Movie Channel streaming service ended 2016 with more than 20,000 subs – about 4 times its total at the end of 2015.
The ListenFirst Television Interest (TVI) Rating (TM) is a standardized measurement of the most buzzed-about TV programs on linear TV and streaming services. A complement to ListenFirst’s other syndicated data products (such as the ListenFirst Digital Audience Rating – TV), the metrics included in the rating capture organic actions that are largely unaffected by paid media. Programs that surface on the TVI leaderboards are the most hashtagged on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and Tumblr, as well as most searched for onWikipedia (used as a proxy for organic search volume).
All Series (1/9/17 – 1/15/17)
Source: ListenFirst. The TVI Rating aggregates metrics that measure organically generated activity by fans of the TV show. The metric includes total volume of official hashtag mentions on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and Tumblr, along with Wikipedia page views (as a proxy for organic search volume) for a show as a percentage of the total volume of the same activities for all shows.

It is calculated on a scale of 1-10 with higher being better. The OpenSlateEngagement score uses a subset of the data incorporated in the SlateScore to perform a set of unique calculations. It factors in views, comments, likes, and more.
To determine the TV ads generating the most digital response, attention analytics company iSpot.tv measures digital actions across Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and all major search engines. Here, a look at the brands advertising so far during the 21st season of The Bachelor.
“Few reality TV franchises have been as durable as ABC’s The Bachelor, which kicked off its 21st season on Jan. 2. The ABC series also reliably gets fans talking up a storm on social media, which attracts marketers interested in high engagement levels. The top 5 brands advertising during the new season so far: Universal Pictures (primarily for Fifty Shades Darker), Neutrogena, Weight Watchers, fibromyalgia pain drug Lyrica and dementia treatment Namzaric, in that order, ranked by estimated spend. Universal also comes out on top in terms of generating the most digital response to its ads, which of course makes total sense. Could there be a more appropriate use of commercial time during The Bachelor than a music-video-like ad for a steamy Fifty Shades of Grey sequel?” – iSpot.tv
