Cynopsis: Kids! Good morning. It’s Wednesday, March 31, 2010, and this is your first early morning Kids briefing. Twilight book series author Stephenie Meyer takes a baby bite with news that Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, a division of Hachette Book Group, will publisher her new Twilight novella, The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner (192 pages) at 12:01a on Saturday, June 5, 2010 (hardcover/$13.99), and as an ebook from 6a on June 5. One dollar from the sale of each book sold in the US from the first printing will be donated to the American Red Cross International Response Fund. The novella, which Meyer began writing in 2005 and says was originally created as an “exercise to help me examine the other side of Eclipse, which I was editing at the time.” Then she planned to use it in The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide, but the story got too long so the readers get lucky and get a new novella that focuses on Bree, a newborn vampire who first appears in Eclipse who is also featured in the upcoming Summit Entertainment movie adaptation of Eclipse. From June 7-July 5, 2010, Meyer will offer the book for free (in English) online at www.breetanner.com . The website will also feature a link to www.redcross.org , where fans can make donations. Additionally, more information about the previously announced The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide, including publication date, will be released by the end of the year. NEW PRODUCTION & DEVELOPMENT Spain-based Imira Entertainment enters into a deal with Enne Entertainment Studios, also in Spain, to co-produce the new 3D HD Escape Hockey (26×26). The interactive version is being developed with VOD, online, interactive TV and game consoles in mind. A mix of comedy and space adventure, Escape Hockey follows Dan, who along abducted along with his friends to the prison planet Plutonium. The only way home is to win the great Escape Hockey Tournament, where Dan and his pals compete against the galaxy’s most dangerous inmates.
