Good morning. It’s Wednesday, December 6, 2006, and this is your first early morning briefing.
Attention LOST fans! When the show returns to ABC‘s schedule on February 7th, it will have a new time period – Wednesdays at 10p. That change effectively moves it out of firing range from Fox’s American Idol.
Other ABC Program Changes:
- William Shatner’s Show Me the Money is also moving to Tuesdays at 8p as of January 2, immediately followed by Big Day and Help Me Help You at 9p and 930p, respectively. These shows will go head to head with American Idol Tuesdays.
- On January 3rd, ABC will introduce a new Wednesday night comedy block when it premieres the freshman comedies The Knights of Prosperity at 9p and In Case of Emergency at 930p. According to Jim will return with double episodes airing at 8p and 830p from January 3-17. George Lopez rejoins the schedule on January 24 with new episodes at 8p followed by According to Jim at 830p.
As for Daybreak, currently airing on Wednesdays at 9p, no news on its New Year schedule. No announcement of a return of The Nine, Six Degrees or the midseason comedy Notes from the Underbelly. (At this point, you may want to consider picking up a new primetime winter broadcast schedule – www.cynopsis.com home page. It’s updated regularly.)

The History Channel presents This Day in History:
1922-In a step toward independence from its neighbor and longtime colonial master, the majority of Ireland declares itself the Irish Free State, part of the Commonwealth of Great Britain. English colonization in Ireland dates to the 12th Century, but under Elizabeth I and Oliver Cromwell violent suppression of Irish rebels and large-scale English settlement at the expense of the Irish became official policy. Centuries of resistance culminated in the struggle for Home Rule, punctuated by the Easter Rising of 1916 and the proclamation of the Irish Free State in 1922. In 1937, the Free State was renamed Eire and declared sovereign and independent; it is now commonly known as the Republic of Ireland
