Comedy Central is developing a new late night 2am block called Web Shows which will feature – you guessed it – shows originally developed for the internet, more specifically for Comedy Central’s site Motherload. According to Hollywood Reporter, the 30m block is scheduled to premiere on Monday and will air once a week. Content will include 8 or 9 shorts, each averaging between two and three minutes long, as well as AtomFilms webisode series The Punk Group: Fat Girls on Bicycles.
The self-proclaimed “Rocky of Comedy” and known for his macho limericks – Andrew Dice Clay is back in a new seven-episode 30m series on VH1 called Dice Undisputed. The series begins March 4 at 10p with two piggy-backed episodes. Coming out of retirement with a new book, a record, in addition to a Sirius radio show and live stand-up gigs, Andrew’s TV show will chronicle his often comedic struggle to balance his personal and professional life. Dice Undisputed is produced by Fox TV Studios.
The new NBC improvisational comedy series Thank God You’re Here will debut April 9 at 9p and again on April 16 at 9p. The series, hosted by David Alan Grier along with judge Dave Foley, will settle into its regular time slot on Wednesdays at 8p starting April 18. The comedy show’s pilot episode features Jennifer Coolidge, Bryan Cranston, Joel McHale and Wayne Knight. Other celebrities such as Fred Willard, Tom Arnold, Fran Drescher, Tom Green, Mo’Nique among others will try their talent at comedy improv during upcoming episodes. The series is produced by FremantleMedia North America.

The drama explores how Kaya and her colleagues deal with the new found fame, the effect on their friends and family. Described by MTV as “raw and uncut”, the story is told thru a series of flash-backs, present day moments and occasional flash-forwards. Kaya is a co-venture between MTV and Protocol Entertainment.
- Me and Mrs. Jones is a 30m docu-style series as cameras follow the day to day lives of MTV’s most popular artists, Nas and Kelis. MTV has ordered 8 episodes.

While these two girls didn’t make the band in that series, they did become fast friends, have moved to Las Vegas to pursue their dreams of stardom. Cameras watch as that dream unfolds, thru the highs and lows, thru a variety of jobs including magician assistants, clowns, dancers and others. The first of 8 episodes is scheduled to debut on MTV in April.

AOL, NBC and Viacom are also among Electric Sheep’s clients.
