Good Morning. It’s Tuesday, August 7, 2007, and this is your first early morning briefing.
USA Network has licensed eleven theatrical titles from Universal Pictures – the two biggest titles in the group being the recently released The Bourne Ultimatum and I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry. The deal will cost USA in the neighborhood of $60 million for the 54-month term, and Universal Pictures retrains the rights to set up broadcast windows for both Bourne and Chuck & Larry, as well as a handful of runs to be sold to another cable network. The Bourne Ultimatum goes to USA in early 2010, and Chuck & Larry in late 2009. The other titles in the sale are Breach, The Good Shepherd, Children of Men, Man of the Year, Ali G Indahouse (a Focus Features film), The Hitcher, Alpha Dog, The Interpreter and Smokin’ Aces.
Tonight’s Premieres:
CBS: Power of 10 at 8p
ABC: i-Caught at 10p
TLC: LA Ink at 10p

~ MORE GOOD STUFF ~
Carson Daly, host of NBC’s late night series Last Call, and its executive producer David Friedman, will remain with NBC in late night. Both have signed a new two-year contract with the network. Carson will also continue his hosting stint of NBC’s New Years Eve special which airs live from Times Square starting at 1135p.
The History Channel will produce three extra episodes of the summer series Ice Road Truckers. The final championship episode is scheduled to air August 19 at 10p, followed a week later by a one-hour historical retrospective bonus episode, The Ice Road: Then and Now on August 26 at 9p. Then a two-part reunion special Ice Road Truckers: Off the Ice will air September 2 and 9 at 9p. The latter special will reunite the truckers for the first time since the winter season ended.

~ PRODUCTION & DEVELOPMENT ~
CBS has ordered up a new comedy pilot. Worst Week is based on the BBC series The Worst Week of My Life, where a young couple engaged to be married, but traverse the minefield of holiday with the soon-to-be in-laws. If this sounds oddly familiar, Fox also shot a pilot based on the same BBC series a couple of years ago. The pilot is from Universal Media Studios and Hat Trick Prods., who also produces the UK series.
Also in development at CBS is a medical drama from Mark Gordon Co, reports Variety. The untitled drama focuses on a psych neurologist and crisis manager, who handles all the job can throw at her with professional grace, but as you might have guessed, she has difficulty managing her personal crises.
FX has ordered up an untitled cop drama, from exec producers Peter Berg, Sheldon Turner and Sarah Aubrey, for Film 44. The story focuses on two undercover cops – one a bit of a rogue cop, who have infiltrated the Russian mob, reports Variety.
