The conference realignment dominos continue to fall was the ACC unanimously voted to accept the University of Louisville as its newest member, replacing Maryland. “With its aggressive approach to excellence in every respect, the University of Louisville will enhance our league’s culture and commitment to the cornerstones we were founded on 60 years ago,” said ACC Commissioner John Swofford. “The University of Louisville is an outstanding addition to the Atlantic Coast Conference and I commend the Council of Presidents for continuing to position our league for the long-term future. If you look at what has been done over the last 15 months, the ACC has only gotten stronger with the additions of Louisville, Notre Dame, Pitt and Syracuse.”
Meanwhile, Conference USA is reportedly backfilling from its Big East raid by snagging two Sun Belt teams, Florida Atlantic and Middle Tennessee State.

FSMG Co-President & COO Eric Shanks joined UFC President Dana White on a conference call with reporters to hype up UFC on FOX on Dec. 8. Shanks noted that the relationship between the two companies was poised to grow in the near future. “We knew that this relationship is going to grow and get bigger every year,” he said. “The first year was really to get the mainstream advertiser base behind it and also promote the UFC within the likes of NFL and Major League Baseball and college football and make it part of a big FOX Sports portfolio. We’ve done that. This relationship is going to look different over the next, two years, three years and it’s only going to get bigger because we’re going to get much more economic support from the advertiser base behind it. When that happens, UFC is going to be one of the top sports in the U.S. on television.”
NASCAR announced the 2013 schedule for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, including the series’ first race on dirt as well as its inaugural international event. On July 24, the trucks will make their dirt debut at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio.
