Good Morning.  It’s Thursday, August 9, 2007, and this is your first early morning briefing.

Less than a month since its debut, TNT ordered an additional 15 episodes of its new drama Saving Grace starring Holly Hunter. The series, from Fox Television Studios, airs Mondays at 10p and Hunter does double duty as producer. Saving Grace premiered on July 23 with ad-supported cable’s largest audience for a new series opener for this year to date.

Also given an encouraging shot in the arm was Fox TV Studios’ Burn Notice by USA Network, receiving an order for 13 more episodes.

Crown Media Holdings, Inc., owner and operator of Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel, will launch the company’s first high-definition product, Hallmark Movie Channel HD in first quarter 2008. The network will also host special programming events each quarter.

YES Network is having a renaissance with viewership this season, as the regional sports network is posting its highest New York Yankees ratings ever. To wit – Tuesday’s night Yankees-Blue Jays telecast delivered 715,000 viewers – the highest-rated and most-watched game on the network since September 29, 2005.  For the 2007 season to date, YES is averaging 437,000 viewers for its Yankee games.

WE tv announced plans to further expand its wedding-themed programming by adding three new series:

  • Wedding Central opens this Sunday by taking an individual look at other key players in a wedding other than the bride. Six one-hour episodes include Wedding Cake Masters, The Wedding Place, Always a Bridesmaid and more. Produced by LMNO Productions.
  • Rich Bride, Poor Bride debuts August 13, and is an acquired series with 26 half-hour episodes from Buck Productions. The series follows a wedding planner who works hard to produce a couple’s dream wedding within a tight budget.

The hour-long program will feature live, in-studio music performances, interviews, music videos, entertainment news and more all surrounding the Christian and gospel music genre. Production begins September 26 and hosts for the show will be announced soon.

Rainbow Media’s free on-demand TV network LIFESKOOL is set to begin a new original series where magicians’ secrets are unveiled.
