The New Republic Launches Podcast

The New Republic has launched a new podcast, The Politics of Everything, hosted by The New Republic’s staff writer Alex Pareene and the magazine’s literary editor Laura Marsh. In each episode, a writer will be interviewed on one of their recent stories for The New Republic. At the end of the episode, the hosts will catch up with campaign reporter Walter Shapiro as he covers the 2020 presidential race for the magazine.

The inaugural episode of the podcast, “Are Kids Bad for the Planet?,” addresses climate change with Emily Atkin, a contributing editor to the magazine. The hosts discuss with Atkin her investigation into how climate anxiety may be altering a whole generation’s approach to reproduction.

The New Republic’s podcast is produced in partnership with Talkhouse and sponsored by PolicyGenius. The first episode debuts today, January 27, with regular episode releases coming in February.
