MTV

will debut the new music reality series Moves in 4th Qtr 2006, with eight episodes. Jennifer Lopez is the show’s executive producer and will be involved in the selection and auditioning of the dancers and will make various cameo appearances throughout the run. The show will follow six dancers as they work hard in the competitive world of dancing to achieve their professional dreams.
 
Hosting the 58th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will be Late Night host and comedian Conan O’Brien. Veteran TV producers Ken Ehrlich and Jeff Ross have been named executive producers of the live telecast scheduled for August 27, 8-11p on NBC.
 
First Look Pictures is bringing new product to the syndication market for Fall 2007, per VarietyThe Collector is an anthology, off-net series, having aired on CHum TV’s City TV and Space TV in Canada.  The show is about an employee of Satan’s here on Earth who is reminding those who have sold their soul to the underlord that their contracts are about to expire, and they now have 48 hours to redeem themselves, or else.  In a straight 7/7 barter split, the deal offers two runs. 
 
The SCI FI Channel has a number of new and returning shows with new episodes premiering this summer. On July 14, SCI FI Friday kicks off with the tenth season of Stargate SG-1, the longest airing sci-fi drama in American TV history. Stargate Atlantis begins its third season also on July 14. Then on July 18, the network premieres the new series Eureka. The series is set in the rural town of Eureka where the government has been secretly relocating the world’s geniuses to work on the latest scientific innovations. The mystery is revealed when a U.S. Marshall wrecks his car and becomes stranded in there.  He then has to establish order after the inhabitants unleash a creation unknown to the outside world. And, on July 27 the SCI FI Channel debuts its reality series, Who Wants to be a Superhero? in collaboration with comic book creator Stan Lee.
 
A special episode of the USA Network series The 4400 premiered exclusively on Yahoo! TV (http://tv.yahoo.com) this weekend for an eight-day run. The episode, The 4400 Special: Unlocking the Secrets will have video streaming on usanetwork.com and scifi.com starting May 29, and then the show will debut on TV June 4 on three NBCU networks: USA Network, SCI FI Channel and Bravo. This rollout strategy by the USA Network and its production partner CBS Paramount Network Television is to entice new and returning viewers. USA will also expand the series online at usanetwork.com to include content under the umbrella “Central Intelligence” with audio podcasts, blogs from the characters, writers and producers, behind-the-scenes interviews, preview footage, with the centerpiece being Maia’s Interactive Diary which will aid viewers in finding clues to the mystery of The 4400 each week.

The Gospel Music Channel has produced a new music video that features former American Idol contestant George Huff. The video, with the Ford Fusion vehicle integrated within it, makes its world premiere tomorrow at precisely 901p – one minute after the finale of American Idol – on both the Gospel Music Channel and at GospelMusicChannel.com.

Scholastic

has appointed Gil A. Dickoff as VP/Treasurer effective tomorrow. He will be responsible for all global activities and play a key role in the company’s financial leadership team. Gil takes over this position from Vincent Marzano who recently resigned after 19 years at the company. Gil reports to Mary A. Winston, EVP/CFO.
 
Mina Lefevre has been upped to VP/Development and Programming at ABC Family. She continues to report to Kate Juergens, SVP/Original Series Programming and Development, and oversees all creative and production phases of the network’s primetime reality and scripted series. Her current projects include the upcoming Three Moons Over Milford and Lincoln Heights.

Thursday – A18-49 Analysis

: NBC came on strong Thursday night and secured a win with a 6.8/19 A18-49, according to fast affiliate ratings from Nielsen Media Research. CBS came in at second place with 5.9/16, followed by FOX 3.6/10, ABC 2.1/6, UNIV 1.5/4, WB 0.9/2, UPN 0.7/2 and TELE 0.4/1. The hour-long “Say Goodnight Gracie” episode of Will & Grace at 8p won the time period for NBC with 5.1/16; the 200th Episode finale of That ‘70s Show on FOX came next at 4.3/13. At 9p, it was almost a tie for #1: CBS ended up a tenth of a point ahead with CSI at 8.2/20 over the finale of Will & Grace on NBC at 8.1/20. The finale of NBC’s ER beat out the rest to take the 10p hour at 7.2/19.

Friday – A18-49 Analysis: CBS escaped with a win Friday night at 2.6/9 A18-49, according to fast affiliate ratings from Nielsen Media Research. ABC was second at 2.5/8, NBC and FOX tied for third at 1.8/6, then UNIV and UPN tied for fourth at 1.4/5, then WB 0.8/3 and TELE 0.3/1. At 8p, the ratings were packed in tight, yet ABC squeezed out a win with the first hour of America’s Funniest Videos Finale at 2.0/7; CBS with the Dr. Phil Primetime Special and NBC with Dateline tied for second at 1.8/7. ABC held the lead at 9p with the final hour of the AFV finale at 2.7/9. Then at 10p, CBS took over the first position with the finale of Numb3ers at 3.4/11.
