Good morning. It’s Monday, June 18, 2007 and this is your first early morning briefing.
HBO has picked up the 3D animated series Magic Cellar and plans to debut it on HBO Family in the US and Bermuda on Saturday, June 23, 2007. The series will air weekly on Saturdays and repeat on Thursdays. Aimed at the K6-11 crowd, Magic Cellar uses African folktales as a means to support African culture, diversity and the tradition of oral storytelling as well as promoting literacy and social communication skills. Produced by Canada’s Chocolate Moose Media Inc. and South Africa’s Morula Pictures, the series was commissioned by the South African Broadcasting Corporation.
Harry Potter creator/author J.K. Rowling will join host Jonathan Ross for an interview on his BBC One series, Friday Night With Jonathan Ross, on July 6 at 10:35p; just 14 days ahead of the July 21, 2007 publication of the seventh and final book in the series, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows. As a reminder, Rowling is also set to appear on a special episode of the popular CBBC, Blue Peter, on Friday, July 20.
The third episode of Nickelodeon’s Let’s Just Play Go Healthy Challenge debuts Sunday, June 24 at 8:30p. In this installment, several stars of the network’s TEENick block also take the pledge to lead healthier lifestyles, and will go online to talk with fans in the coming weeks at www.nick.com/letsjustplay . Additionally, in this episode’s Workout Like a Pro segment the NFL’s Roy Williams of the Dallas Cowboys will take viewers through his balance strengthening exercises in order to convey the importance of a balanced diet and lifestyle.
