~ PRODUCTION & DEVELOPMENT ~

ABC gave a pilot order for a multi-camera called The Smart One executive produced by Ellen DeGeneres and starring Portia De Rossi.  Don Todd is the writer on the project about a brilliant and successful woman who reluctantly goes to work for her less smart though more popular sister.  De Rossi will play one of the sisters.  Warner Bros. Television and A Very Good Production are producing with Lauren Corrao also serving as executive producer.

Season three of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire is adding Bobby Cannavale to play Gyp Rosetti, a charming though ruthless gangster who takes on Nucky (Steve Buscemi) for control of the bootleg business.

Charlie Sheen’s upcoming comedy Anger Management on FX has cast Shawnee Smith to play Sheen’s ex-wife Jennifer.  Selma Blair was also cast to play Sheen’s therapist, Kate.  Production on the sitcom begins in March and FX has plans to premiere Anger Management this June.
