Glee-ful Fox star Jane Lynch will be moonlighting on a different network as NBC on Friday named her host of its upcoming show Hollywood Game Night. NBC picked up eight episodes of the one-hour competition from Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner last December.

A new half-hour unscripted series, Forever Young, debuts on TV Land with back-to-back episodes beginning Wednesday, April 3 at 10p.  The six episodes focus on what happens when five “juniors” under the age of 30 and five “seniors” over the age of 70 live together in the same house. Forever Young is from Ashton Kutcher and Jason Goldberg’s Katalyst and Eyeworks USA’s EPs JD Roth and Todd A. Nelson.
CNBC Prime premieres its first reality series, Treasure Detectives, on Tuesday, March 5 at 9p. The eight-episode series is produced by Endemol USA and features art detective Curtis Dowling and his team of investigators.

E! announced that Sunday, April 21 at 10p is the premiere date of its new series What Would Ryan Lochte Do? starring the swimming superstar.  Following at 1030p is the season two debut of Married to Jonas starring Kevin and Danielle Jonas.

Beginning March 5 at 10p and ending On March 26, Science Channel unveils its Are We Alone? programming stunt, following the network’s success with Are We Alone? last March. In partnership with SETI Institute, the four episodes feature scientists on the hunt for alien life form and include Alien Encounters: The Invasion, Alien Encounters: The Offspring, and two episodes of Aliens: The Definitive Guide.   

In Memoriam: Television executive Greg Brannan died February 13 at the age of 57 following a five-year battle with thymic carcinoma. Brannan was a programming executive who got his start in television in Phoenix and then worked for E! Entertainment Television, helping develop the Style Network in 1997. He eventually held the position of EVP of E! Networks in charge of all programming for E! and Style. Brannan later worked in similar capacities for Tech TV, LTN, MobiTV and CNET. He’s survived by his wife, Huyen, a son and a daughter.  A memorial service will be held on March 2 at 1030a at the Woodland Community and Senior Center in Woodland, CA.

Eclipse TV has cleared four Incredible Dog Challenge hours in more than 86% of the country on stations including WABC, KABC, WMAQ and WPVI.  The show window is April to July 2013.

The Broadway Channel is partnering with RCN Cable New York to launch a linear channel this December. The Broadway Channel will air programming on Channel 76 in New York, reaching approximately 85,000 home subscribers of RCN in Manhattan.


John Stamos is making a possible comeback to full-time series television after signing a deal to star in NBC’s drama pilot I Am Victor.  The drama is described as House-like about a high-powered divorce attorney named Victor Port (Stamos).  Recently, Stamos has been recurring on NBC’s The New Normal.

Hill Harper inked a deal to star as a series regular in USA Network’s drama series Covert Affairs during season four.  Harper will portray an ambitious CIA station chief based in Latin America.  Production on the series is filmed in Toronto.  Season four of Covert Affairs with 16 episodes is produced by Universal Cable Productions.


TCM UK acquired the one-hour original scripted drama series Longmire which aired in the US on A&E Network last year.  TCM made the deal for the drama series from Warner Bros. International Television Distribution for season one with 10 one-hour episodes.  TCM, owned by Turner Broadcasting will premiere Longmire Sunday, March 17 at 9p and air it weekly.

Univision reported that the 25th anniversary edition of the Premio Lo Nuestro Latin Music Awards on Thursday tallied 11.6 million viewers who tuned in to all or part of the live three-hour broadcast. This marked a year over year increase among total viewers 2+ (+13%) and Adults 18-49 (+11%).

truTV’s series Impractical Jokers concluded the first half of its second season Thursday with more than 1.9 million total viewers, a +28% increase over the show’s season one finale.  The episode also drew 1.2 million A18-49 viewers.  The series, produced by NorthSouth Productions is expected to return later this year to finish its second season.  Also on Thursday, truTV debuted new series Upload with Shaquille O’Neal which drew 1.3 million total viewers and 872,000 with A18-49.

Thursday A18-49 Analysis:  FOX hit the right note with the A18-49 viewers Thursday at 3.9/11, according to final primetime national ratings from Nielsen.  At 8p, CBS’ comedies The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men led with an average of 4.8/14 followed by FOX’s American Idol with a 3.9/11.  FOX’s American Idol flipped into first place at 9p winning with a 4.1/11 and ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy trailed in second at 3.1/8.  Then at 10p, Univision’s presentation of Premio Lo Nuestro 2013 topped at 2.8/8 while ABC’s Scandal was a close second at 2.7/7.
