Scott Greenstein

SiriusXM President & CCO Scott Greenstein received the 2018 Legacy Award at the Seventh Annual Cynopsis Sports Media Awards. The Legacy Award is presented annually to a C-level media executive whose work has transformed the world of sports throughout their career. Greenstein leads the largest radio company (measured by revenue) and one of the largest subscription media companies in the world. Since Greenstein joined SiriusXM in 2004, the company’s programming lineup has expanded to include more than 200 channels of commercial-free music, sports, news, comedy, talk and entertainment, broadcasting on the company’s satellite platform and SiriusXM streaming online. SiriusXM’s programming covers the gamut of sports and their platform is home to top sports media personalities, as well as many athletes and coaches who have made successful entries into broadcasting.

“Our awards ceremony has recognized some true legends in this business over the years and the addition of Scott this year continues that legacy,” said Chris Pursell, Director of Sports Content for Cynopsis. “Scott has labored hard over the years to transform the sports landscape that we see today.”

Greenstein led SiriusXM signing and renewing key long-term agreements with The NFL, MLB, NASCAR, The NBA and The NHL, and he has overseen the growth of SiriusXM’s original sports programming that now features more than a dozen exclusive 24/7 channels including SiriusXM NFL Radio, SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio, SiriusXM NBA Radio, MLB Network Radio, SiriusXM NHL Network Radio, Mad Dog Sports Radio, Barstool Radio and several others. Under Greenstein’s direction, SiriusXM has been the platform that has enabled many athletes and coaches to succeed in their forays into national broadcasting. Over the years some of these have included legendary Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski, Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre, NASCAR champion Kevin Harvick, Masters champion Fred Couples and former Pro Bowl running back Maurice Jones Drew, among many others.
