  • Broadcast nets: ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The WB, UPN, PBS, PAX
  • Cable nets: ABC Family, Altitude Sports & Entertainment, AmericanLife TV Network, Black Family Channel , Bravo, CNBC, Comcast SportsNet Chicago, CourtTV, E!, Fox College Sports Pacific, Fox Movie Channel, Fox Reality, FSN Arizona, FSN Ohio, FSN South, FSN West, FUEL TV, FX, G4, GSN, Lifetime, LIME, MSNBC, Ovation, Oxygen, PAX, Showtime, SOAPNet, SPEED Channel, Style Network, TBS, The Tennis Channel, TRIO, TV Guide Channel, TV One, TVB Jade Channel, USA Network, WGN Cable
  • Radio: ABC Radio’s major market outlets, Infinity Radio stations
  • Internet: AOL.com, CBS.com, FOX.com, Real.com, Yahoo.com

Also tonight, BET will air its own telethon tonight from 730p-10p with a growing list of artists, celebs and public figures joining its effort to raise funds for Hurricane Katrina victims.  S.O.S (Saving Ourselves): The BET Relief Telethon is a collaboration between BET and the National Urban League, American Red Cross, Hip-Hop Summit Action Network, Essence Communications and several major record labels.

More carriage notes on Judge John Roberts’ appearance before the Senate Judiciary Committee next week.  Court TV will air all of the coverage as well as provide analysis from Alan Dershowitz, as will Ken Starr.

Two premieres on VH1 this weekend, both on September 11. My Fair Brady with Christopher Knight (Peter Brady of the Brady Bunch) and Adrianne Curry (the first winner of America’s Next Top Model), who first met when filming Surreal Life 4.  Now they have their own reality show as cameras follow their lives together.  My Fair Brady kicks off at 930p.  And at 1030p is the premiere episode of Breaking Bonaduce.  Cameras follow Danny Bonaduce as he moves thru his life with his wife and kids, including appointments with the couple’s therapist.

Here is product placement taken to a whole new level.  London-based ad agency Saatchi & Saatchi has launched a new division called GUM, created to target the elusive teen and young 20s demo.  The idea is simple, according to The Wall Street Journal:  Saatchi & Saatchi is offering advertisers a sort of human billboard – that is, owning and naming their own all-female hip-hop band, having their products seen/used/worn on stage and in music videos, and if they want, paying a little extra, have their product names used within the lyrics of the band’s songs. The band made its first appearance last evening at Saatchi & Saatchi offices, and unless you knew any better, you’d never know it was a marketing device. The agency calls this Branded Entertainment, and finds masking advertising within entertainment is a better way to reach this tough young demo. Also coming from GUM, commissioned entertainment for other media including TV, film, cellphones and video games.

Friday Fun Fact:
An object weighing 100 pounds on Earth would weigh just 38 pounds on Mars.

The History Channel presents This Day in History:
1850- After exploding in population, California is accepted into the Union as the 31st state in record time, without ever passing through territorial status.  The region became part of the United States by cession from Mexico in the 1848 treaty that ended the Mexican War.  Soon afterward, the “forty-niners” flooded into the state in search of gold, and California quickly reached the 60,000 inhabitants necessary for a petition of statehood.  It also helped California’s cause that northern representatives in the Congress, consumed by the question of slavery’s extension to Western territories, were eager to admit another free state
