Roku has partnered with Estrella MediaCo, Canela Media, and Fuse Media to offer advertisers a curated marketplace of Hispanic and multicultural inventory. Advertisers can now run brand videos on top of ad-supported Hispanic and multicultural channels on the Roku platform. “Multicultural and bilingual audiences are vital to Roku and offer a huge growth market for advertisers,” said Dylan Moorhead, Director, Publisher Business Development and Programmatic Partnerships at Roku. “By uniting with specialist publishers, we’re strengthening our lead as the go-to destination for Hispanic and multicultural streamers, while providing powerful new options for brands to meaningfully reach these audiences.”
At its annual unBoxed event, Amazon Ads announced a series of innovations across the Amazon demand-side platform, including a new Amazon DSP experience that streamlines campaign planning, and simplified product launch and measurement solutions. “The digital advertising landscape is rapidly evolving, with streaming TV becoming mainstream and full-funnel, cross-channel reach and measurement taking center stage,” said Kelly MacLean, Vice President of Amazon DSP. “We’re inventing ad tech that makes it easier for all advertisers to navigate this evolution with precise reach, deeper insights, and direct measurement.”
Now hear this: Amazon Ads also unveiled a generative AI tool to create audio ads, enabling brands to conceptualize, create, and refresh content in one platform. The advertiser selects the product to promote, then AI analyzes the product’s details and customer reviews to create ad copy that’s read by a synthetic voice. The 30-second audio ads run across Alexa-enabled devices.
A restructuring of NBCUniversal’s sports ad sales teams has led to the exits of several employees, including ad sales chief Dan Lovinger. In a memo to staff, President of Advertising and Partnerships Allison Levin, who joined NBCU in late 2023 from Roku, said the Olympics and NBCU’s sports vertical will combine into an expanded team. “Our team must be hyper-focused on growing the business, selling audiences first, and maximizing revenue for our big moments,” she wrote. “To best achieve these goals, we need a structure that enables our sales team to do what they do best — sell — while bolstering our support functions to more effectively handle operational tasks, speed up decision-making and streamline processes.” Levin said an expanded team will now include all Olympic sales as well as NBCU’s Sports vertical, leveraging a unified strategy across all sports assets and be led by Peter Lazarus.
NBCUniversal Local introduced new weather products within the NBC Owned TV Stations’ and Telemundo Station Group’s mobile apps that feature customization tools, a streamlined layout and intuitive design to deliver faster and easier access local weather data. The English- and Spanish-language weather sections are available across all 35 NBC- and Telemundo-owned stations’ apps for iOS and Android devices. “This redesign was an extensive effort that relied on significant research and data, the expertise of our meteorologists and weather experts around the nation, and most importantly, our users, who provided considerable feedback,” said Lora Dennis, EVP of Multiplatform, NBCU Local.

The latest WFA Outlook report forecasts nine of the top 10 global media markets will see higher media prices in 2025 versus 2024, with US prices expected to rise from 2.1% in 2024 to 2.3% in 2025. Prices are expected to accelerate significantly in 2026, with the US expected to see inflation on 3.9%.
In his opening speech at the DPAA Summit on Tuesday, Barry Frey, President and CEO of the organization, touted DOOH as the launchpad for innovation. One example? “It’s retail media! Where others are talking about e-commerce, DPAA members are innovating and reaching consumers on the path to purchase…. Let’s face it, 85% of purchases are still being made in physical stores, and research shows 87% of consumers are accepting, or feel positively, about ads appearing inside retail establishments. The National Anthem sounds different on Gray Media nowadays. On Tuesday, the company, which has played the National Anthem on its stations every day since 2019, started airing a new version that features a performance by a youth orchestra, accompanied by a soloist who is a Gray Media employee. “This project represents both the future and the foundation of our nation,” said Hilton H. Howell Jr., Gray chairman-CEO. “This is one of the most wonderful countries anywhere in the world, and we should be proud of it. “Slow Horses” had barely crossed the season four finish line when Apple TV+ announced a six-episode sixth season. The darkly comedic spy drama starring Gary Oldman follows a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping ground department of MI5.
Disney Jr. greenlit “Marvel’s Iron Man and his Awesome Friends,” the first preschool Iron Man series. From Disney Branded Television, the series is currently in production and slated for a summer 2025 premiere on Disney Jr. and Disney+. The new series is part of Disney and Marvel’s expanded strategy to introduce Avengers characters and stories to a new generation of fans.
Can you dig it? BBC Factual announced “Secret Garden,” a series for BBC One and iPlayer from Plimsoll Productions. “Last year, BBC One’s Wild Isles became the highest rating factual series of the year, showing there’s a huge audience who are excited by the wildlife of Britain and Ireland,” said Jack Bootle, Head of Commissioning, Specialist Factual. “Now, in ‘Secret Garden,’ we’re looking at animal dramas that are even closer to home – the unbelievable true stories playing out right now in gardens up and down the UK. It’s a major three-year production that gives our gardens the blue chip treatment.”
Korean reality show “Culinary Class Wars” has been renewed for season two at Netflix. The series, which premiered in September, topped the streamer’s Global Top 10 TV (Non-English) list for three consecutive weeks.
New global production company Weirdbunch Entertainment will focus on Middle Eastern stories, characters, myths and legends for a global audience. The first original IP out of the gate is “The Legend of Soloman,” featuring Saudi Arabia’s first superhero family.
Anime streaming service Crunchyroll and NGLmitú, the Latino-focused digital media and entertainment company, struck a new partnership bridging the connection between Latino culture and love for Japanese animation. FuboTV and The Athletic announced an in-depth partnership making Fubo the official live TV streaming partner of The Athletic. Australia’s Cheeky Little Media and Canada’s Sinking Ship Entertainment are teaming to co-produce a new animated series, “Flower & Flour.” Created by Dan Mansour, the is inspired by Mansour’s and his wife Romy’s childhood experiences, with many of the adventures drawing from Romy’s upbringing in her family’s restaurant, which serves as the inspiration for the show’s central setting.

Over two dozen updates are headed to YouTube, including features like fine-tunable playback speed, allowing for adjustments in 0.05 increments; improved browsing in landscape with greater responsiveness, and larger thumbnails and bigger text; and visual improvements across YouTube to simplify the app. Also rolling out are a new miniplayer, new customization tools for playlists, and enhancements to the YouTube experience on TV. “Whether it was greater control, richer personalization, or useful features, we’ve been hearing from our users that they wanted to get the most out of YouTube in a way that’s unique to them,” said the company in a blog post. “These updates are a direct result of that valuable feedback, and they represent just the beginning of our ongoing effort to make YouTube better for everyone.”
