Hulu sealed another deal for exclusive TV show SVOD rights, this time with Twentieth Century Fox Television. In a multi-year agreement, current and future shows from FX and FXX will find a home on the streaming service. Coming exclusively to Hulu Plus next year will be The Strain, Tyrant, Married and You’re the Worst. Other FX shows will be available non-exclusively, such as Sons of Anarchy, American Horror Story, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Louie, Archer, The League, and Wilfred.
Zealot Networks, the digital media studio from former Maker Studios CEO Danny Zappin, acquired a majority stake in content-licensing company Audio Micro. One AM brand is YouTube’s music-licensing business AdRev; AM also recently acquired digital music-licensing service DashGo. AM says it dishes out more than $10 million in royalties per year to partners.
The online platform for African American and urban audiences, Interactive One (iOne), acquired Russell Simmons’ pop culture platform GlobalGrind. GG will anchor a new millennial channel for iOne, including the Stuff Fly People Like brand. GG was created in April 2013, and is reaching 4.1 million unique visitors per month as of this December; iOne currently hits 33 million unique visitors per month. "I have been very proud of the care Interactive One has given my baby under our partnership to date, and am extremely excited to be contributing my points of view on trends and issues of utmost importance within the community, particularly social justice,” Simmons said.
Vevo’s newest original series, Do It Yourselfie, features YouTube celebs Eva Gutowski (1.5 million subscribers) and Tess Christine (1.1 million subscribers) giving tips on looks found in music videos. The first two episodes are available at vevo.com.

AwesomenessTV’s first feature film Expelled hit the top of the iTunes chart just one day after it was released this Tuesday. The film stars Cameron Dallas and other social media stars – Andrea Russett, Lia Marie Johnson, Marcus Johns, Michelle Glavan and Teala Dunn. The film is also available online at ExpelledMovie.com as well as Google Play, Amazon, Target Ticket and Walmart. Vimeo on Demand will release it on Dec. 30. Expelled was produced by ATV’s founder Brian Robbins and Shauna Phelan.
Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee debuted its final season five episode, featuring Jimmy Fallon. The show is split into two parts, with former Seinfeld star Michael Richards as company president ‘Dick Corcoran’ appearing at the end of the ep’s second part. The entire series can be viewed on Crackle platforms.

U.S. Internet advertising revenues hit $12.4 billion for the third quarter of this year, according to a new Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) Revenue Report released yesterday. This marks the highest quarter ever, beating out the previous record revenue of $12.1 billion from Q4 2013. The third quarter milestone also show a year-over-year uptick of 17 percent over the $10.6 billion reported for the third quarter of 2013, and a 6.5 percent increase from Q2 2014, which accounted for $11.7 billion. “This milestone demonstrates marketers’ commitment to digital,” IAB President and CEO Randall Rothenberg said. “Brands are tapping into the ubiquity of digital screens, now an undeniable vital part of consumers’ lives, as they seamlessly move from smartphones to PCs to interactive televisions throughout the course of their day.”
General Electric will pair up with Vevo to distribute a bundle of music video content on Dec. 24, but will only be viewable on connected devices such as the Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and game consoles. “We want to get into connected TV in a really meaningful way,” GE’s Head of Global Media Innovation told Digiday. “The audience size is huge. And the behavior from a content-consumption standpoint is something that has really hit critical mass.” The bundle will include four videos: a documentary about rapper Nas called Shake The Dust; a music video for Nas’ Drop Science single; Matthew Dear’s electronic track (with sound exclusively from GE machines); the Science of Rhythm roundtable conversation about the documentary; and a brief feature, called Rhythm and the Brain, about how music affects the brain.
Eonline reeled in more than 43 million multiplatform uniques last month, up 106 percent year-over-year, according to comScore. Additionally, Eonline ranked number one among "young affluents" (ages 18-34 with household income of $100K+) across all entertainment and women’s lifestyle competitors such as People.com and TMZ.com.
