Who is listening?
Millions. In November, ESPN Podcasts set a new record for the month with a verified unique audience of 7.3 million. The total represents an increase of 28% over November 2018 and is the 11th consecutive month of year-over-year growth. In addition, ESPN podcasts had 45.6 million downloads, up 24% from November 2018 and just shy of last month’s all-time record of 46.1 million.
 
PROGRAMMING
 
Fox drew 13.6 million viewers for Ohio State’s
win over Wisconsin on Saturday night, marking the second-best Big Ten football championship. The only game to draw a higher audience was Michigan State-Ohio State in ’13. OSU-Wisconsin is up from 8.7 million viewers last year for OSU-Northwestern.
 
The PBR and CBS Sports
announced the television schedule for the 2020 season. Following the announcement of a 10-year extension earlier this year as the television home of PBR (Professional Bull Riders), the network will increase its coverage of the sport for the upcoming year. In 2020, CBS Sports will air more than 50 PBR telecasts. The CBS Television Network will broadcast 17 events from the PBR Unleash The Beast tour – the most ever for the network – while CBS Sports Network’s robust schedule includes 14 live events from places like Sacramento, Calif.; Billings, Mont.; Cheyenne, Wyo.; Nashville, Tenn.; and Las Vegas, Nev. for the PBR World Finals.

Pringles
is returning to Super Bowl broadcast for the third consecutive year, this time in partnership with Adult Swim’s animated series Rick and Morty. Pringles said it would “test the limits with Rick and Morty, in a humorous, mind-bending animated spot.” The 30-second ad is created by Adult Swim in partnership with Grey Group and will air during the second quarter, leading to a fully integrated marketing campaign with Rick and Morty getting a special-edition Pickle Rick flavor.
 
DIGITAL, DATA AND  TECH
 
The National Lacrosse League
and its global media partner B/R Live announced a wider expansion of NLL live game coverage across multiple platforms, with the launch of the NLL “Game of the Week” streaming for free across B/R Live domestically and Twitter and Facebook worldwide. The streams will be available to global audiences starting Saturday, December 14, when the New England Black Wolves visit Saskatchewan and continuing through the end of the regular season in April. Each of the NLL’s 13 teams will be featured at least once.
