The freshman shows, which delivered .9/3 and .7/2 among A18-49, respectively, on their last outings, will remain in the 9p and 9:30p timeslots as they finish out their 13-ep orders. The Blacklist had already been scheduled to move to Thursdays at 9p post-Super Bowl.
A fatal crash of the Virgin Galactic SpaceShipTwo on Friday put the future of an NBC-ordered reality series in question. The net had reached a deal a year ago with Virgin Galactic and Mark Burnett’s One Three Media for Space Race, which would have contestants compete to win a flight into space aboard the craft. In Friday’s tragedy, the pilot was killed and another person seriously injured during a test flight in California’s Mojave Desert.

Blame Netflix, said Sanford C. Bernstein analyst Todd Juenger in a report analyzing the 3Q14 drop in C3 ratings for ad-supported TV. “We examine all the evidence at hand and come to a strong conclusion that SVOD is primarily to blame,” said Juenger, predicting another 4 percent decline in linear TV thanks to Netflix. “It seems SVOD is no longer incremental, it has become cannibalistic.” Report said the drop is biggest in primetime and among younger demos.
Starz mob drama Magic City, canceled last year after two seasons, will be revived on the big screen with Bruce Willis and Bill Murray joining series regulars Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Danny Huston, Olga Kurylenko and Kelly Lynch. Mitch Glazer, who created the 1962-set show, wrote the script and will direct.
Woody Harrelson (True Detective) will take a third stab at hosting Saturday Night Live, on November 15. Musical act is hip hop’s Kendrick Lamar. It’s been a while since Harrelson last manned the NBC late night sketch comedy show – his prior stints were in 1989 and 1992.
Investigation Discovery launched Saturday in Denmark, the latest leg of an international rollout that began in 2009 that now has the net reaching over 100 million viewers outside the U.S. Launched six years ago Stateside, ID has grown from a top 50 network to a top five net for women. “I knew that Investigation Discovery could become a top ten brand in the U.S. and could also feed an international appetite for compelling, emotional mysteries,” said group president Henry Schleiff. “These incredible true stories of human nature are, indeed, universal, as demonstrated by the prolific success of the content around the world.”
