Disney and IMAX are teaming to upgrade 13 Marvel movies available for Disney+ subscribers with IMAX’s Expanded Aspect Ration format. IMAX traditionally uses a squarer 1.43:1 format, but Expanded Aspect Ratio is closer to the 16:9 ratio of TVs. Among the enhanced films will be “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” premiering on the service Friday, November 12.

“Tamron Hall” has been renewed by the ABC Owned Television Stations Group for seasons four and five. “Tamron Hall is a trusted and accomplished journalist and an outstanding talk show host,” said ABC News President Kim Godwin. “She is a breath of fresh air in daytime, approaching every show and segment with her personal mix of curiosity and compassion.” The talker debuted in 2019.

T-Mobile is the first official launch partner for NBCUniversal’s new One Platform campaign, “Because I’m a Veteran,” which aims to shine a light on the importance of hiring Veterans and supporting the military community in post-service life. The effort is part of NBCUniversal’s Advertising & Partnerships’ larger “Boots to Boardroom” initiative, devoted to creating awareness of what Veterans can bring to the table in a corporate setting. Additionally, the NBCUniversal Advertising and Partnerships BOLD Vets program, which is aimed at transforming NBCUniversal from a vet friendly to a vet-ready organization, will continue its partnership with The Veterans Network, an NBCUniversal Employee Resource Group, for its third annual Veteran’s Day Event on November 11.

“Star Trek: Prodigy” has been renewed for a second season by Paramount+. The second half of the freshman run of the animated kids series launches Thursday, January 6.

Emilio Estevez issued a statement about his exit from Disney+ series “Mighty Ducks: Game Changers” after one season. Responding to reports that he departed at least in part because of his refusal to provide assurances that he would comply with Covid vaccination requirements, Estevez said, “I am not anti-vaxx. Full stop….In the final analysis this was nothing more than a good old fashioned contract dispute and not, as some would believe an anti-vaccine position….My exit from the show was due to a myriad of creative differences – any other narrative is false.”

One exit that does appear to be due to anti-vaxx rhetoric is former “General Hospital” star Ingo Radamacher’s. The actor, who joined the show in 1996, was released after backlash against his strong protests against vaccine mandates. Rademacher also offended members of the trans community in a post, for which he apologized.

AMC Networks streamer AllBlk handed a series order to “Al La Carte.” The dating dramedy from Breanna Hogan and executive producers Dijon Talton and Meagan Good centers on an overachiever in her 20s who finds the man of her dreams, only to learn he already has a partner.

ABC has a comedy in development, “Relatable,” inspired by the life of “Ironic” singer Alanis Morissette. The show focuses on a 40something former rock star famous for songs about teen angst, who can’t get the younger generation in her house to listen to her. 20th Television is the studio, producing in association with Thruline Entertainment.

Real estate reality series “Selling Sunset” is getting a spinoff. “Selling the OC,” following “Sunset” real estate firm owner Jason Oppenheim, will makes its debut in 2022.

Casting notes: Greg Tarzan Davis (“Top Gun: Maverick”) is joining ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” in a recurring role as a medical resident. His first episode is slated for Thursday, December 9… Edward Norton (“Keeping the Faith”), Indira Varma (“Game of Thrones”), Keri Russell (“The Americans”), Cherry Jones (“The Village”), and Michael Gandolfini (“The Many Saints of Newark”) have joined the cast of Apple TV+ climate change anthology series “Extrapolations.”

Jeff Willbusch (“Unorthodox”) landed the series lead in David E. Fox set midseason premiere dates for new series “The Cleaning Lady” (Monday, January 3 at 9p), “Joe Millionaire: For Richer or Poorer” (Thursday, January 6 at 8p) and “Monarch” (Sunday, January 30 at 10p). Back for season two are “9-1-1: Lone Star” on Monday, January 3 at 8p, and “I Can See Your Voice” on Wednesday, January 5 at 8p. Absent from the slate were new fall series “The Big Leap” and “Our Kind of People.”

AMC+ has acquired the new three-part psychological thriller “Anne Boleyn,” starring Jodie Turner-Smith (“Queen & Slim”). The AMC+ Original Series will make its US premiere beginning Thursday, December 9.

Paramount+’s revival of “The Game” debuts Thursday, November 11. Joining the team are two new cast members, Tim Daly (“Madam Secretary”) and Toby Sandeman (“Power Book III: Raising Kanan”). The series originally aired on The CW, then BET.

Kenan Thompson (“SNL,” “Kenan”) will host the “People’s Choice Awards,” airing Tuesday, December 7 at 9p on NBC. “Kenan’s versatility and commitment to creating quality entertainment that has sparked laughter for over three decades has made him one of the most endeared comedians of our time,” said Jen Neal, EVP, Live Events, Specials & E! “Stonehenge: Land of the Dead,” premiering Sunday, November 28 at 8p on Science Channel, follows experts as they use cutting-edge technology to uncover a previously unknown subterranean ring at the historic site. The two-hour special pieces together the evidence as scientists and archaeologists reveal a giant ring 20 times the size of Stonehenge that, until now, has been completely hidden from sight.

Media company Revolt has launched its first digital streaming app. The app serves as the primary destination for exclusive extended versions of Revolt programming like “Drink Champs,” “Big Facts,” “#Respectfully Justin” and new series “Assets Over Liabilities,” as well as short-form series, full preview episodes and clips.

Music video network Vevo announced the launch of ten Vevo channels on Local Now. The partnership with Local Now is part of Vevo’s wider strategy to bring its content to fans through CTVs in both on-demand and linear-programmed environments. “Linear programming allows us to create a more tailored lean-back viewing experience on TV that caters to a variety of music fans and preferences,” said Rob Christensen, VP, Advanced TV, Vevo. “For example, because there is great appetite for nostalgic content, we have curated decades-based channels where fans can reminisce about the past.”

Third quarter financial results Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment included net revenue of $29.1 million, compared to $22.1 million in the second quarter of 2021, and $19.4 million in the year-ago period. The 50% year-over-year growth was driven by an increase in ad sales and licensing. “We delivered a strong quarter that increases our confidence that we can meet our 2021 goals, with record all-time revenue and the second-best Adjusted EBITDA performance in our history,” said William J. Rouhana Jr., chairman and chief executive officer of Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment. “We are seeing momentum in our AVOD networks, highlighted by viewership growth at Crackle in Q3 and strong growth at Popcornflix since our September relaunch.”
