Layoffs hit Meta last week. Departments affected included WhatsApp, Instagram and Reality Labs, reported The Verge. “A few teams at Meta are making changes to ensure resources are aligned with their long-term strategic goals and location strategy,” said a Meta spokesperson a statement. “This includes moving some teams to different locations, and moving some employees to different roles. In situations like this when a role is eliminated, we work hard to find other opportunities for impacted employees.”
Meta shared initial results from its work with Blumhouse on recently introduced Meta Movie Gen, a suite of AI models that show how to use simple text inputs to produce custom videos and sounds, edit existing videos, and transform personal images into a unique video.
