The good news on the gridiron continued on Sunday for the NFL. Overnight ratings rose by 7% overall, with CBS and NBC led the way with matching 12.3 ratings for both the Sunday national window and Sunday Night Football.

The Ravens-Steelers SNF clash was Sunday’s top primetime show with 12.3/21 overnight (not including digital) – up 12% from last year’s Week 4 (11.0/19 for Indy-Sea) and 3rd consecutive week of double digit increase vs. ’17. The 12.3/21 overnight on NBC was the best for a Ravens-Steelers rivalry matchup on Sunday Night Football since 2011 Week nine meeting (five SNF games) and up 6% from last year’s Balt-Pitt SNF game in Week 14.
 
 
ON THE AIR
 
NBC Sports’ coverage of the Ryder Cup from Le Golf National outside Paris was up all three days vs. 2014 in Scotland, the last year the Ryder Cup was staged in Europe. NBC’s final day coverage on Sunday posted a Total Audience Delivery (TAD) of 2.71 million average viewers across a 5.5-hour telecast (7 a.m.-12:30 pm ET), up 23% vs. 2014 (2.21 million, Gleneagles, Scotland). Streaming of the Ryder Cup Final Day garnered 11.1 million minutes streamed, up 697% from 2014 (1.4 million) and 58% vs. 2016 (8.1 million, Hazeltine National Golf Club, Minneapolis). Europe won the Ryder Cup for the seventh time in ten events and continued their streak of winning in Europe dating back to 1993.
 
TBS will be the exclusive home of the American League throughout the 2018 MLB Postseason, beginning with the American League Wild Card presented by Hankook Tire with the Oakland Athletics vs. New York Yankees on Wednesday, Oct. 3, at 8 p.m. ET. The MLB Postseason Pre-Game Show on TBS presented by The Chrysler Pacifica will begin the network’s postseason coverage at 7 p.m., featuring Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez, nine-time All-Star Gary Sheffield and former NL MVP Jimmy Rollins joining host Casey Stern for their third postseason together. The studio team will also offer postgame analysis on The Postseason Show on TBS.
 
The Olympic Channel global platform will have comprehensive coverage of the Youth Olympic Games Buenos Aires 2018 from 6 to 18 October, including 550 live streaming hours across 149 events in addition to a 24/7 Youth Olympic Games Channel. The Olympic Channel’s multi-platform coverage starts on Saturday, October 9 at 8 p.m. local time with the Opening Ceremony live from Buenos Aires’ iconic Obelisco. Buenos Aires 2018 will be the first gender-balanced Olympic event, featuring an equal number of male and female athletes.
 
The 1.99 rating for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race on NBC is the highest overnight delivery for the Fall Charlotte race since 2014.
 
Dentsu will now be responsible for the sale of all commercial rights connected with the 2019 Copa America, which is to be hosted in Brazil. The agency’s original deal also included responsibility for production and the logistics of hosting the tournament, the latter of which it would have shared with the Brazilian football confederation. The commercial rights were previously being sold by M P & Silva, who continue to have financial issues.

Aaron Judge has had the best-selling Major League Baseball jersey for the second year in a row despite being limited to 110 games with a wrist injury. The list is based on sales on MLB.com. The New York Yankees slugger was followed by Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve, while Chicago Cubs infielder Javy Baez, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw and Boston Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts rounded out the top five.
 
 
DIGITAL AND STREAMING
 
Outdoor Sportsman Group expanded its exclusive, global, subscription-based, streaming service MyOutdoorTV (MOTV) with its launch on streaming platforms Amazon Fire TV and Apple TV. The launch of the MOTV app on Amazon Fire TV and Apple TV follows its launch on ROKU during the summer.  
 
CBS Sports Fantasy launched a personalized fantasy football “General Manager” for the Google Assistant, marking a first-of-its-kind virtual assistant integration for fantasy sports. By talking to the Google Assistant, anyone who plays CBS Sports Fantasy Football can now get personalized, actionable guidance on which players to start, pick up or trade. The Assistant will also provide CBS Sports players with real-time score and injury updates specific to their team.
 
FIGHTNIGHT LIVE Powered by Everlast is averaging nearly 400,000 views per event to date during its second season. The free and interactive Facebook series has now topped the two million views plateau, having served 2,214,461 fight fans since its inception in May of 2017.
 
FloSports announced a partnership with Triple Crown Sports, to provide live and on-demand coverage of multiple TCS events in youth fastpitch and college softball on FloSoftball.com, as well as men’s and women’s college basketball on FloHoops.com.

The Katowice, Poland city council is extending its ties with IEM, voting to “co-organize and promote” the world championship taking place at the huge IEM Katowice event operated by ESL. The city’s current deal with ESL expires after its 2019 show, causing the city to approve about $3.5 million to help promote the event up to 2023 with the 2018 action hosting 169,000 spectators. Next year will now see IEM Katowice serve as the 14th Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Major.

 
Now that ESL One New York is wrapped up, Modern Times Group reportedly upped its take in Turtle Entertainment and its ESL division, increasing its investment from 74% to 82.48%, according to TEO.
