The Video Advertising Bureau is pushing back against forecasts and reports showing a rash of cord cutting by consumers dropping traditional pay-TV subscriptions. The VAB is citing research from the likes of Nielsen, SNL Kagan and TiVo. It its most recent prediction, eMarketer forecast that 22.2 million U.S. adults will have cut the cord by year-end, up 33% from 2016, and ahead of a previous, end-of-2017 estimate of 15.4 million.

Time magazine has chosen Digital Editor Edward Felsenthal as its new Editor-in-Chief. He succeeds Nancy Gibbs, who will remain as Editorial Director of the company’s news group until the end of the year.
Former Oriental DreamWorks Chief Creative Officer Melissa Cobb is joining Netflix to lead its kids and family content team. Her title will be VP of Kids and Family, reporting to Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos.
