Joan Rivers passed away September 4. The pioneering 81-year-old comedian and Fashion Police host had been hospitalized for eight days, after going into cardiac arrest during an August 28 medical procedure. “My mother’s greatest joy in life was to make people laugh,” said her daughter and Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best? co-star, Melissa Rivers. “Although that is difficult to do right now, I know her final wish would be that we return to laughing soon.” Scott Sternberg, Executive Producer with Joan and Melissa on the web series In Bed With Joan told Cynopsis, “I learned so much from Joan each and every week. She treated everyone like they were a king or queen and she never stopped giving it her all, no matter what. She is by far one of the greatest people I ever knew. She made all of us laugh and all of us love. I will miss her so much.”

Long-time friend Henry Schleiff, group president of ID, DA, AHC and Discovery Fit & Health, tells Cynopsis, “I knew Joan for more than 30 years and while we all recognized her incredible humor and extraordinary work ethic, I can honestly say that her greatest qualities were her loyal friendship and incredible exuberance for life: her intelligence was exceeded only by her genuine warmth.  Indeed, Joan broke down so many barriers in her career and had so many projects yet to come.”
