YouTube’s crackdown on hateful content resulted in a spike of videos and channels purged during the second quarter of 2019. In a blog post on Tuesday, the Google-owned video giant said the policy change led to a fivefold increase in the number of videos (111,185) and channels (17,818) removed in Q2 for hate-speech violations compared with previous typical quarters. It also noted that total comments removed in the quarter nearly doubled to about 538 million, in part as a result of the updated policy. The video platform announced an update to its hate-speech policy in June that banned content “alleging that a group is superior in order to justify discrimination, segregation or exclusion based on qualities like age, gender, race, caste, religion, sexual orientation or veteran status.”
Spotify and Parcast launched 12 new daily podcasts on Tuesday, one for each sign of the zodiac. Horoscope Today provides listeners with a source of identity and a roadmap to their destinies.
