Was five-part ABC/ESPN documentary O.J.: Made in America, coming on the heels of FX’s The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, too much of a good thing? Hardly, says branding and insights firm TruthCo. “2016 may well be remembered as the year that TV obsessed over O.J. Simpson,” says TruthCo.’s July’s Show to Know report. “However, instead of inducing O.J. fatigue, this pairing demonstrates dominant culture’s strong appetite for multiple perspectives on a single narrative, as finding many ways into one story reflects the environment of endless commentary that we’ve grown used to in the internet age.”
