On Animal Planet during 2Q18, the new season of Dr. Jeff: Rocky Mountain Vet averaged 1.4 million Total Viewers P2+ for the quarter; The Zoo averaged 1.3 million P2+. Animal Planet’s June Prime ratings grew +2% over last year among A25-54 and total Prime Time viewership (P2+) was up double digits (+13%), the largest year-over-year Prime viewership growth for the network since March 2017.
Science Channel had its highest rated June ever, with primetime and total day highs in 2Q18 among Adults and Males 25-54 and total viewers P2+.
History’s Evel Live on Sunday night was the #1 cable special of the year with total viewers (3.5 million) and A25-54 (1.6 million), excluding news and sports, according to Nielsen. With 1.2 million A18-49 tuned in during the three-hour event, it was also History’s best premiere special among key demos since Gettysburg in May 2011.
Comedy Central notched its sixth consecutive month of ratings growth among A18-49, with June up +11% in primetime.
The season five premiere of Starz drama Power more than doubled the acquisition and viewership performance from season 4 on the Starz app, driving a 40% increase in On Demand viewing on premiere night. The Starz app saw 110% more new and returning customers sign up over premiere weekend versus the previous period last year.
ABC won Sunday for the 6th straight week with its game show lineup, with .9/4 among A18-49 for Celebrity Family Feud (the night’s most-watched entertainment program/ 6.3 million viewers), The $100,000 Pyramid and To Tell the Truth.
Velocity had its most-watched second quarter and June in its nearly seven-year history among Men 18+ and P18+, with its 23rd consecutive quarter of year-over-year primetime and total day delivery growth in P18+ and Persons.

Hania Poole has been promoted to Senior Vice President of NCAA Digital and General Manager of Bleacher Report (B/R) Live. In her expanded role, Poole will continue to oversee all aspects of NCAA Digital and the recently launched B/R Live, Turner’s premium live sports streaming service.
Catherine Mackin was hired as Managing Director of Acorn Media Enterprises, the UK-based division for Acorn TV. Most recently, Mackin was Director of Programme Acquisitions at UKTV.
Crown Media Family Networks tapped Revella Cook and Margaret Johnson to serve in the newly-created positions of directors of business and legal affairs. Cook joins Crown Media from ABC Television, where she served as attorney, while Johnson comes from Madison Wells Media, where she was counsel for business and legal affairs.
Sarah Nathanson was appointed Vice President, Legal & Business Affairs at Vancouver-based multiplatform entertainment company Thunderbird. Previously, Nathanson was Director, Business & Legal Affairs at DHX Media.
