Fox yanked I Wanna Marry Harry and Riot from its Tuesday sked, replacing them with repeats of comedies Family Guy, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, New Girl and The Mindy Project. Harry and Riot pulled a .4 rating/1 share on Tuesday, the lowest ratings ever for an original series on the Big Four. Fox will make unaired eps of Harry available on Fox.com, Fox on Demand, FOX NOW and Hulu starting this afternoon.
USA picked a second season of its first original half-hour comedy series, Sirens, averaging 1.62 million viewers for its freshman run. The show "resonated with a broad fan base, and we are excited to grow this new audience further," said USA president Chris McCumber.
Tel Aviv-based cross-media company Screenz is teaming with Google for Screenz Real Time Platform, enabling real-time voting on TV shows via a mobile app. First to use the cloud-based software system is Keshet global hit format Rising Star, debuting on ABC Sunday, June 22 at 9p.
Stream at your peril, FIFA organizers have warned web sites not authorized to carry World Cup matches. "We want to ensure that all infringing streams can be promptly identified and removed," FIFA wrote to site operators, reports TorrentFreak. Failure to do so, continues the letter, "will expose you to civil and criminal liability."
Summer travelers won’t have to miss World Cup coverage, at least not when they’re at the airport. CNN Airport Network, serving 50 major U.S. airports, will air live, daily soccer coverage, including World Sport daily at 12p, anchored from Rio de Janeiro for the duration of the tournament.
Margaret Loesch is leaving her position as president and CEO of Hub Network at the end of the year. "I am very proud of the work we have done and the accomplishments we have achieved," said Loesch. "I look forward to evaluating future opportunities and writing the next chapter."
Comcast announced Thursday that all of Nielsen’s top 100 cable and broadcast shows can be accessed via its Xfinity On Demand. Since 2011, hours spent viewing the on demand service’s content increased nearly 75 percent, from 149 million hours to 259 million hours in 2014.

Co-showrunner Carol Mendelsohn is leaving CSI after 14 years; fellow co-showrunner Don McGill will take over for season 15 of the CBS procedural. A documentary focused on a Boston Red Sox All-Star will be sandwiched between baseball movies in an EPIX marathon. The Bad News Bears starts the lineup on Thursday, July 17 at 6:15p, followed by David Ortiz in the Moment. Major League airs at 9p, then Eight Men Out at 11p.
Big Brother debuts in HD for the first time with a two-night premiere Wednesday, June 25 at 8p and Thursday, June 26 at 9p. Expanded interactive and multiplatform features on the CBS reality show include new Impact Votes, 24/7 live feed features and exclusive digital programming.
World renowned primatologist Jane Goodall will introduce Nat Geo WILD special Kingdom of the Apes, premiering Sunday, July 13 at 9p. The two-hour program includes chimps from the Tanzania national park where Goodall began her pioneering work over 50 years ago.
A wedding planner framed for a crime is the focus of Hallmark Movie Channel’s Wedding Planner Mystery, premiering Saturday, August 16 at 9p. Erica Durance (Smallville) and Andrew W. Walker (When Calls the Heart) star in the drama from Reel One Entertainment.
Corona Extra will use the same creative for its Hispanic and general consumer spots, reports Adweek. "This is the first time that we’ve used the same program for the general market, total market, both multicultural and Hispanic consumers," said Jim Sabia, chief marketing officer for Constellation Brands’ beer division. Two ads will run this summer, one in English and one in Spanish.

Digital advertising keeps growing, according to a new report from eMarketer, but despite an increase of almost 42 percent this year, it won’t pass growth in TV spending in 2014. eMarketer projects TV will add $2.19 million versus last year, while digital will get a $1.76 million bump. "Time spent with digital video is growing significantly, and it’s taking away some TV time," said David Hallerman, principal analyst at eMarketer, "but given the diversity of placements and platforms, digital video viewers are more difficult for advertisers to target."
Just in time for Father’s Day, Nielsen released the top ads for dads, based on its Ad + Brand Memorability Index. The winners: Subway (Crunch N Munch), Geico (A Tree Does Make a Sound), Sonic (Ordered All 25 Shakes), Best Buy (Beta-Testing 2-in-1 Laptops) and Subway (Introducing Fritos Chicken Enchilada Melt).

The season premiere of ABC Family‘s Pretty Little Liars was Tuesday’s top scripted program in W18-34 (935,000), viewers 12-34 (1.8 million) and F12-34 (1.6 million), behind only game 3 of the NBA Finals on ABC, and was the number one cable TV telecast among A18-34 (1.1 million), A18-49 (1.4 million) and W18-49 (1.2 million), as well as the number one scripted cable TV telecast in total viewers (2.7 million, down from 3.0 million for its season four launch).
Bad news for Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, whose Tuesday loss in the Virginia primary to a Tea Party candidate created shockwaves, was good news for Fox News Channel. In the 8p hour, FNC jumped 57 percent, to average close to 500,000 viewers A25-54.
Tuesday’s Deadliest Catch was the number one cable program on Tuesday among P2+, P/M25-54 and M18-49 delivery, the eighth week in a row that the Discovery series was tops in P/M25-54 delivery, earning ratings of 2.23 HH/1.95 P25-54/2.58 M25-54/1.33 P18-49/1.68 M18-49 and 3.1 million total viewers. The 8p premiere of pre-show The Bait was the number two cable program.
PBS‘s national primetime average was up 7 percent year over year from 2011-2012 to 2012-2013, reports the net, placing it 8th among all broadcast and cable networks. Top three shows: Antiques Roadshow, Masterpiece and NOVA.
