She’s so glad they had this time together: “I’m thrilled to be a part of my favorite show,” said Carol Burnett, set to guest star on the sixth and final season of AMC’s “Better Call Saul.” Burnett joins Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, who will appear in their “Breaking Bad” roles. The final six episodes of the series kick off Monday, July 11 at 9p.

Alex Wagner landed the 9p slot on MSNBC, stepping into the hour left open four days a week by Rachel Maddow. The new program will debut August 16. Maddow will continue to host her show on Mondays, as well as focus on other NBCUniversal projects. “I’m honored to be anchoring a key hour of television in such a critical time for American democracy,” said Wagner, who left MSNBC in 2015, but returned this year as analyst and guest anchor. “In many ways, the stakes have never been higher, and there’s no better place to explore this moment than MSNBC.”

The House January 6 Committee scheduled a hearing for today, June 28 at 1p, despite saying earlier it would break until after Congress’ recess. ABC, CBS, FOX, CNN and MSNBC plan to cover the session.

Tony Dokoupil has renewed his contract with CBS News, keeping him onboard “CBS Mornings” with Gayle King and Nate Burleson.

Tokyo Broadcasting System Television, format owner of “Ninja Warrior,” is working on tests to see whether the show’s obstacle course could be part of the Modern Pentathlon at the 2028 Olympic Games in LA. A first test is being held this week in Ankara, Turkey.

Annabel Oakes (Paramount+ prequel “Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies”) has inked an overall deal with Paramount Television Studios. “Annabel is a brilliant mind, and what she has brought to ‘Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies’ is extraordinary,” said Nicole Clemens, President, Paramount Television Studios and Paramount+ Original Scripted Series. “We are excited to continue our already amazing partnership with her.”

Animal Pictures (“Loot”) as signed a first-look deal with Apple TV+ for series and digital features. The production company, founded by Maya Rudolph and Natasha Lyonne, previously had a deal with Amazon Studios.

Season four of “Succession” is underway in NYC, reports HBO. As the sale of Waystar Royco nears, “a power struggle ensues as the family weighs up a future where their cultural and political weight is severely curtailed.”

Buffalo 8 has entered a 10-picture first look deal with Carl Jackson Studios. Films in the works include “The Exceptional Santa Claus” and “LAX To Paris.”

Andie McDowell (“Maid”) will star in Hallmark Channel’s “The Way Home,” a new original series. It’s a coming home of sorts for McDowell. “Our viewers loved Andie MacDowell when she starred in Debbie Macomber’s ‘Cedar Cove,’ our first original primetime series,” said Laurie Ferneau, SVP, Development, Crown Media Family Networks. “We couldn’t be happier to welcome her home to Hallmark Channel and we know our fans will fall in love with her all over again.”

NEW & RETURNING SERIES

A new season of WE tv’s “Life After Lockup” launches Friday, July 29 at 9p. This season’s new couples face travel limitations and restrictions on consorting with old connections, while returning couples deal with the growing pains of adjusting to love, family and marriage while juggling the emotional challenges of life on the outside.

Property Brothers, where are you? “What We Do in the Shadows” is back for season four on FX on Tuesday, July 12 at 10p. This time around, in addition to the usual blood and laughs, the show offers “just a touch of home renovation.”

Season two of anthology series “American Horror Stories,” from Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, debuts Thursday, July 21 on Hulu.

The merger of Trump Media & Technology Group Corp. and SPAC Digital has hit a snag. Federal prosecutors have issued subpoenas to every board member of Digital World, an act which could “materially delay, materially impede or prevent” the transaction. Investigators are looking into Digital World’s due diligence related to the company, and communications regarding and due diligence of potential targets other than Trump’s firm.

Cinedigm Corp. announced the launch of The Elvis Presley Channel. In partnership with Elvis Presley Enterprises, LLC and ABG Entertainment, the new streaming channel features films and specials starring The King, along with additional movies, series and lifestyle programming inspired Presley.

Live-action seriesALF” is now streaming on Shout! Factory TV and is available on its own FAST channel on Amazon Freevee. “ALF: The Animated Series” and 21 episodes of the animated series “ALF Tales” will also be coming soon.

Star-studded NBC special “Ukraine: Answering the Call” airs Sunday, July 3 at 7p. President Volodymyr Zelensky will address Americans during the broadcast, aimed at educating and raising money for people in the war-torn country.

HBO Max’s Scene in Black, celebrating storytelling, music and culture, takes place in New Orleans from July 1 to July 3. “We are thrilled to have Scene in Black on the ground in New Orleans during the 4th of July weekend,” said Jackie Gagne, SVP, Multicultural Marketing, HBO Max and HBO. “Our activations will consist of previews to upcoming programming and conversations with talent and creatives that we hope will build connections and inspire current and future creatives.”

Youku, the streaming platform of Alibaba Digital Media and Entertainment Group, has picked up “Hushabye Lullabye”; Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific has acquired a package comprising 70 hours of “MythBusters” content; The Red Apollo Group has acquired a selection of history titles; No Country TV has picked up history series “Combat Ships” and “Wings of War; and Yuxiu International Media Co has acquired natural history hour “Who’s Afraid of the European Hamster?”.

Cineflix Rights has closed a deal with TV3 Baltics for more than 200 hours of factual content. The deal, covering TV3’s Latvian and Lithuanian networks, includes “Richard Hammond’s Workshop”; “Smoke and Steel: Secrets of the Modern World”;
“Rise of the Machines”; “Property Brothers: Forever Home”; Moving Houses”; and “Impossible Planet.”

Banijay Rights announced Alpha TV has commissioned Barking Well Media to produce a first season of “All Together Now,” to premiere later this year.

UK’s Channel Four has commissioned a docuseries produced by Roast Beef Productions in association with All3Media about Kevin Spacey. “Spacey Unmasked” will look at the rise and fall of the disgraced “House of Cards” star.

FloSports struck a five-year partnership renewal with Amaury Sport Organisation to provide live and on-demand coverage of the Tour de France exclusively in Canada from 2024 through 2028.
