Law&Crime Network set record YouTube Viewership with the verdict in the Johnny Depp v. Amber Heard Trial, attracting more than 3.5 million live concurrent viewers. Law&Crime’s page has seen nearly a billion views on content related to the case and welcomed 2.3 million new subscribers.

The CW Network released summer premiere dates for its new and returning series. New Australian dramedy “Bump” makes its U.S. debut with back-to-back episodes on Thursday, August 11 at 8p. Historical drama “Leonardo,” bows Tuesday, August 16 at 8p, followed by the Season 2 debut of “Devils” at 9p. In addition, the Season 3 premiere British whodunit competition “Killer Camp” on Friday, August 5 at 8p.

A day after COO Sheryl Sandberg resigned, shares of Meta Platforms climbed 4%. The rise in stock price came amid a broader rise in tech stocks. Nasdaq Composite was up 1.8% by early afternoon on Thursday.

Pixalate released the Q1 2022 Global Connected TV (CTV) Ad Supply Chain Trends Report, a comprehensive analysis of the state of open programmatic CTV advertising through H1 2021. Among the key findings: a 32% increase in global programmatic ad spend in CTV from Q1 2021 to Q1 2022; 92% of U.S. households now being reachable via CTV programmatic advertising, up 11% year-over year. More than 20% of open programmatic CTV advertising was invalid traffic in Q1 2022, the third straight quarter over 20%. In addition, 47% of open programmatic ad spend in CTV went to Roku devices.

Tubular Labs can now bridge social video viewing with shopping behavior on Walmart ecommerce for its Tubular Consumer Insights product. The offering, which already provides data correlating social video behavior to Amazon shopping data across thousands of products and categories, now connects the dots between views and shopping behavior on both retailers. The flour power lives on. Netflix has renewed a second season of “Is It Cake?” The series features talented bakers competing to create hyper-realistic cakes that look exactly like everyday objects, in the hopes of fooling a panel of judges. Mikey Day will be back as host.

HBO ordered a fourth season of “A Black Lady Sketch Show.” Created, written and executive produced by Robin Thede, who also stars in the project, it features a core cast of Black women having hilarious experiences in a magical reality.

“The Challenge” universe is being explored in a new docuseries. MTV has set “The Challenge: Untold History,” a six-part series that will feature more than 30 legendary competitors as well as famous fans including Kim Kardashian, Vernon Davis, and Lindsey Jacobellis.

Fox is moving forward with one-hour drama “Felonious Monk.” Written by Michael Brandon Guercio (“Treadstone”), the project is based on the novel by William Kotzwinkle. It tells the story of a disgraced-cop-with-anger-issues-turned-monk, who returns to his hometown to take care of his late uncle’s business debts and suspects foul play.

HGTV has greenlit “Rico to the Rescue” (wt). The eight-episode home renovation series stars builder Rico Leon as he steps in to help Denver homeowners transform construction nightmares into create beautiful homes. The series is slated to premiere in early 2023.

Blue Ant Studios struck a first look deal with veteran TV producer Tony Tackaberry’s Station 6 Productions. They will collaborate on projects including premium documentaries and nonfiction series, in a wide range of formats.

Production is underway for a third season of “Pretty Hard Cases” with filming continues in and around Toronto. The 10 one-hour episodes are set to air on CBC in winter 2023. Seasons 1 and 2 are available on CBC Gem in Canada and Amazon Freevee in the U.S.

Erin Young’s crime thriller The Fields is being adapted into a television series, according to Deadline. Bruna Papandrea’s Made Up Stories (“Big Little Lies”), Jennifer Todd Pictures and Endeavor Content have acquired the rights to the novel. Kate Brooks (“A Discovery of Witches,” “Bancroft”) is attached as a writer/showrunner.

Lori Rothschild Ansaldi’s production company Big City TV has partnered with actor-comedian Brian Dunkelman to develop “I Sh!t the Bed with Brian Dunkleman.” The docucomedy follows Dunkelman in real time as he reflects on his life choices and glaring career doozies.

AllBlk is producing “Hush,” reports Deadline. The eight-episode drama series, created by Angela Burt-Murray, stars Joyful Drake (“P Valley,” “The Quad”), Caryn Ward Ross (“Monogamy,” “Lucifer”), Erica Mena (“Love & Hip Hop,” “Sacrifice”), Candiace Dillard Bassett (“Real Housewives of Potomac,” “The Christmas Lottery”) and TS Madison (“The TS Madison Experience,” “Zola”). It details the story of Dr. Draya Logan (Drake), a top marriage and sex therapist, TV personality and best-selling author who becomes entangled in a web of lies, sex and murder.

FilmRise has acquired AVOD and SVOD rights to stand-up comedy specials “Gotham Comedy Live” from Anthem Sports & Entertainment. It features performances from Gilbert Gottfried, Janeane Garofalo, Louie Anderson, Margaret Cho, Sandra Bernhard, Pamela Anderson, Norm Macdonald, and more.

Pop superstar Kesha searches for the supernatural in “Conjuring Kesha,” the new Discovery+ series premiering Friday, July 8. Comedian Whitney Cummings and musician Betty Who join Kesha on the show’s first two episodes.

Lifetime offers up a new way to meet Mr. Right in new relationship series, “Five Guys a Week.” Debuting Wednesday, July 13, the series centers on a new leading lady each episode as she dates five men during the course of a week – all of whom move into her home.

Former “Home Improvement” co-stars Tim Allen and Richard Karn team up with do-it-yourself YouTube star April Wilkerson in “More Power.” The nonfiction series, which premieres Wednesday, June 29 at 10p on History Channel, takes place in Tim’s home shop, where the trio tackles the supercharged history of tools.

The Weather Channel announced its summer primetime lineup, debuting Sunday, June 5. “Deep Water Salvage,” returning for its second season at 9p, delves into the havoc wreaked by the increase of deadly weather events. New series “The Earth Unlocked” bows at 8p, exploring remarkable natural wonders forged by extreme weather, geologic change, and biological evolution. “Lords of the Ocean” debuts at 10p and follows the Lohnes family business, Dominion Diving.

INSP’s “Wild West Chronicles” premieres its second season on Thursday, July 28 at 8p. The historical docudrama is inspired by true tales of famous characters and unsung heroes of the American West.

“The Green Planet” bows Wednesday, July 6 on PBS. (Check local listings.) Hosted by Sir David Attenborough, the five-part series uses the latest technology to reveal the secret world of plants.

Circle Network is bringing back two summer hits. “Dinner Drive with Kyle Petty” and “Big Kenny’s Crank It Up Garage” return Thursday, June 16 at 9p and 9:30p, respectively. In “Dinner Drive with Kyle Petty,” the NASCAR legend has one-on-one conversations with some of his favorite athletes and musicians as they take a drive and share stories over dinner. Meanwhile, Big & Rich’s Big Kenny looks into the wildest motorized builds and the stories behind them in “Big Kenny’s Crank It Up Garage.”

Psychological thriller “Surface” debuts globally on Apple TV+ with its first three episodes on Friday, July 29. Set in high-end San Francisco, series stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw (“The Morning Show”), who also executive produces. She plays Sophie, a woman whose traumatic head injury has left her with extreme memory loss.

Season 2 of “The Outlaws” premieres Friday August 5 on Prime Video. The comedy thriller follows a disparate group of lawbreakers thrown together to complete a community service sentence.

TNT released the official trailer for the sixth and final season of “Animal Kingdom.” It bows with back-to-back episodes on Sunday, June 19 at 9p.

COMING UP

“American Greed” marathons are set to air tonight and Wednesday, June 8 on CNBC. Back-to-back episodes of the network’s longest running primetime original series will air from 8p to 12a.

Showtime Sports Documentary Films premieres “NYC Point Gods” on Friday, July 28 at 9p. Extending the collaboration between Showtime and NBA superstar Kevin Durant and business partner Rich Kleiman’s Boardroom, the project spotlights the enduring impact of New York City point guards who honed their craft on the city’s playgrounds and high school gyms in the 1980s and 90s.

“CMT Crossroads” Black Pumas & Mickey Guyton” bows Wednesday, June 15 at 10p on CMT. On the heels of a collaboration of Colors at this year’s “2022 CMT Music Awards,” the trio will reunite for a night of high-energy performances of each other’s greatest hits.

Marvel Studio’s “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” begins streaming Wednesday, June 22 on Disney+. It takes viewers into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies, traverses the dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a strange new adversary.

TECH TALK

WWE, together with Fox Entertainment’s Blockchain Creative Labs, will debut its first NFT collection on Moonsault, WWE’s official NFT marketplace, today. The limited-edition collection will include 10,000+ “NFT Flips,” each featuring an WWE Superstar tied to the Hell in a Cell event, streaming live Sunday, June 5 on Peacock. The NFT Flips will be sold on Moonsault in “Cases” of three, randomized at minting for $30 per case.

Nifty’s and Warner Bros. Consumer Products are launching a story-driven blockchain program to engage Looney Tunes fans. “Looney Tunes: What’s Up Block?” will use digital art as a medium for storytelling, creating a new narrative for the franchise, revealed through NFTs. Combate Global’s Hispanic Mixed Martial Arts sports franchise posted the second-highest television viewership in the company’s history, with its tentpole event on Univision and TUDN USA on Sunday, May 29. Despite a late 11:52p start, the Combate Global event averaged 884,000 P2+ viewers, including 414,000 viewers in the A 18-49 demographic.
