ZIP Bomb: This email version of a distributed denial of service attack exploits the ability of mail servers to unpack archives in attachments. A hacker could, for example, fill a compressed document with nothing but billions of the letter M and when the file is unpacked it overloads the system.

Just in time for the Upfront marketplace hoopla, Google tweaked its AdSense technology to enable the company to remove ads from individual website pages containing offensive content. Up to now, Google would simply remove all ads from an entire website if one page had offensive content. In addition, the coming weeks will see the tech giant roll out new tools including one that will provide website owners know why it removed certain ads. “One of the top requests we hear from publishers is that they want more transparency about how we respond to policy violations on their content. They want more information about why we remove ads on their websites and more help to resolve issues quickly, minimizing the impact on their bottom line.”
 
Speaking of the Upfront, Fox isn’t the only TV network that’s not happy with Nielsen’s proposed Total Content Ratings. New Fox sales chief Joe Marchese said in a press phone call that the network will be looking for alternatives for tracking all viewership of its programming but did not provide specifics. Back in December, NBCUniversal told Nielsen it felt that Total Content Ratings weren’t ready for primetime.
 
Lisa Filipelli, VP of Talent at the AwesomenessTV Big Frame division, has left the company to open her own independent management shop, Variety reports. Following Filipelli to her new Hollywood-based Flip Management are 14 internet stars: Tyler Oakley, Ingrid Nilsen, Amanda Steele, Kian Lawley, Jc Caylen, Jen Chae, Aspyn Ovard, Hayley Williams, Ben J. Startup WinView has raised $12 million in Series B funding from investors including Discovery Communications. The company’s app lets users win cash prizes by placing free wagers on sporting events while watching live TV. The second round of funding was led by media veteran Tom Rogers and includes Graham Holdings Co., Ted Leonsis’ Monumental Sports & Entertainment and Aryeh Bourkoff’s LionTree Partners.
 
Non-profit ProPublica knows that while it’s good at journalism, video is another story. So it is teaming up with Vox to hire a joint video producer on a year-long appointment to work with Vox’s video team to create videos based on ProPublica’s reporting. Applications for the Vox/ProPublica Video Fellow, who will be based in the Vox newsroom, will be accepted until May 29.

MediaRadar, the advertising intelligence platform for media ad sales teams, has a new partnership with comScore in which comScore data will be integrated into MediaRadar’s artificial intelligence engine. There are big changes at ESPN SportsCenter. Sage Steele in late August will host SportsCenter:AM Monday through Thursday from 7-10 a.m. Hannah Storm moves from anchoring the 10 a.m. SportsCenter slot to hosting primetime specials for E:60 and SportsCenter. Steve Levy, Kenny Mayne, John Anderson and John Buccigross with continue with the network and will host ET SportsCenter.
