IN THE NEWS
Four veteran cast members signed off from “Saturday Night Live.” Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, Pete Davidson and Kyle Mooney are all exiting the NBC series and had their swan song Saturday night on the episode hosted by Natasha Lyonne. The theme of the night was a throwback to the time, more than a decade ago, when the venerable show used to give departing cast members more formal sendoffs. McKinnon has been on the show for 11 seasons (her last show marked her 211th episode, more than any woman in “SNL” history), Bryant has been with the team for 10, Mooney for nine and Davidson for eight seasons.
Get ready to return to the Upside Down. Netflix released the first eight minutes of the first episode of the upcoming season of “Stranger Things.” The streamer said it will debut the first seven episodes of the nine-ep fourth season on Friday, May 27; the final two eps will be released on July 1 as Volume 2. The new season picks up as the band of friends, separated for the first time, deal with aftermath of the destruction their town of Hawkins was dealt last season, the complexities of high school and a new supernatural threat.
Reginald Hudlin and Done+Dusted will be back to produce the 74th Emmys this year. The 2022 run will marks the third consecutive year that the “House Party” director and his Hudlin Entertainment will exec-produce and the fifth year for the British production company. The awards are slated to air on NBC on Monday, September 12. No host or venue has been announced.
The WWE “suspended indefinitely” Sasha Banks and Naomi, and stripped the tag team of their titles after they refused to participate in a match last week at “Monday Night Raw.” Their suspension was announced on the “WWE Friday Night SmackDown,” with a tournament held to crown new champions.
Who’s making promises they can keep?
It’s been anything but business as usual this upfront season, as media companies and advertisers search for enhanced analytics and insights to better target and measure audiences. There have been promising partnerships and pilot tests, but there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. Determining what’s right for your company means up close, interactive explorations of the latest tools and tech, with experts on hand to answer questions specific to your business. And that’s what you’ll find at the Cynopsis Measurement & Data Conference, reimagined to help solve for the new measurement landscape. It’s coming up soon – you can register here.

This go-round Victor embarks on a journey of self-discovery, deciding not only who he wants to be with, but who he wants to be.
Disney+ previewed Walt DisneyAnimation Studios’ “Baymax!,” which premieres Wednesday, June 29. The series features new adventures in the fantastical city of San Fransokyo, where the affable, inflatable healthcare companion robot Baymax—star of 2014 film “Big Hero 6”—attempts to do what he was programmed to do: help others.
Disney+ also announced “Zombies 3” will premiere globally Friday, July 15 and then bow on Disney Channel Friday, August 12 at 8p. The latest story in the franchise introduces a new group of mysterious outer space aliens to the student body of zombies, cheerleaders and werewolves at Seabrook High.
