Discovery CEO. “With our collective assets and diversified business model, Warner Bros. Discovery offers the most differentiated and complete portfolio of content across film, television and streaming. We are confident that we can bring more choice to consumers around the globe while fostering creativity and creating value for shareholders.”
Jon Steinlauf, who had been Chief U.S. Advertising Sales Officer at Discovery, will now serve as Chief U.S. Advertising Sales Officer for Warner Bros. Discovery. “Jon is an industry pioneer, a brilliant thinker and an excellent leader,” said Bruce Campbell, Chief Revenue and Strategy Officer for Warner Bros. Discovery. Said Steinlauf, “I am honored to be leading what I believe will be the most talented ad sales organization in the industry….I’ve spent the last 30 years of my career at Turner, Scripps and Discovery and have the utmost respect for the Warner brands. It is incredible to me that everything will come full circle at Warner Bros. Discovery.”
ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” has been renewed for seasons 31 and 32 – on Disney+. It will be the streamer’s its first live series. “’Dancing with the Stars’ has entertained fans for 16 years on ABC, and we are excited to bring this beloved show exclusively to Disney+,” said Kareem Daniel, Chairman, Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution. “The show’s broad appeal, as well as the overwhelming popularity of its Disney-themed competition nights, make Disney+ the perfect home for ‘Dancing with the Stars’ while continuing to expand our demographic reach.” The reality show’s shimmy to streaming allows ABC to air several “Monday Night Football” games, as well as to “develop and invest in new and future programming,” said ABC in an advisory to its affiliate stations.
CBS has renewed action drama “S.W.A.T.” for season six. Series star Shemar Moore tweeted the news on Friday: “Another year of Kicking Ass coming your way…ROLL SWAT BABY!”.

Cameraman Pierre Zakrzewski and freelance journalist Oleksandra “Sasha” Kuvshynova, who were with Hall during the attack, died from their injuries.
Amazon Studios is bringing back comedy “With Love” for a second season on Prime Video. Season one of the series from Gloria Calderon Kellett (“One Day at a Time”) dropped in December.
“The Real” is the latest syndication show to get the axe – the daytime talker’s current eighth season will be its last. Its core station group the Fox Stations chose not to renew it. Also ending their runs this year are “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” “Dr. Oz,” “The Wendy Williams Show,” “The Nick Cannon Show,” “The Good Dish,” “Judge Jerry,” “Maury,” “DailyMail TV,” and “The Doctors.”
Will Smith won’t be going to the Oscars anytime soon. The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences’ Board of Governors has decided the “King Richard” star will be banned from all Academy events and programs for 10 years for slapping Chris Rock onstage at this year’s ceremony. Smith, who resigned from the organization following the incident, said “I accept and respect the Academy’s decision.”
Advertising on 22 large retail sites like Amazon, Home Depot and Target, in categories including electronics, home and garden, pharmacy grocery and more, topped $3 billion from May 1, 2021-January 31, 2022, according to MediaRadar. “The retail industry has seen dramatic changes over the last few years, especially during the pandemic,” said Todd Krizelman, CEO & Co-founder of MediaRadar. “As such, companies are advertising on e-commerce sites in hopes that their products will be seen by the right buyer, ultimately ending with a purchase. With online retailers holding the key to tons of shopper data and insights, companies are leveraging these sites to accurately target consumers who are interested in their products at the exact time they are likely to buy.” Over 88% of spend from the sample, from 24,000 companies advertising nearly 38,000 brands, was invested in native ads. Amazon, Target and Walmart were the top retail sites, with ad spend totaling over $2.3 billion.
