Pop will be the TV home for Impress Me, from Rainn Wilson’s (The Office) production company, SoulPancake. Six eps of the comedy about celebrity impressionists trying to transition into drama have already premiered on YouTube; Pop will air those plus seven that haven’t run. “SoulPancake birthed this baby online, and Pop’s savvy creative team is bold enough to bring it to TV,” said Wilson. Show launches Wednesday, March 18 at 10:30p, after Schitt’s Creek.
A+E Studios signed a multiyear, first-look development agreement with Vikings creator Michael Hirst, who will work with the A+E Studios team to develop, create and produce original drama programming for the company’s portfolio of networks including A&E, Lifetime and History, as well as outside buyers. “My experience working with the History Channel on Vikings has been altogether positive, enjoyable and collaborative,” said Hirst. “I now look forward eagerly to developing more original drama with the A+E Studios very committed team.”
Andrew Lack, in talks to join NBCUniversal’s news operation in a top role as it struggles to regain its footing after a series of missteps, left his job as CEO of the Broadcasting Board of Governors, it was announced Wednesday. Pat Fili-Krushel, chairman of NBCU News Group, is expected to move to a different role within the company. Lack ran NBC’s news division from 1993-2001.
Sling TV just made cutting the cord a little more attractive, adding AMC and IFC to its core $20/month subscription package. For $5 more, subscribers can get the “Hollywood Extra” package, with content from EPIX nets and Sundance TV. AMC and IFC join core nets ESPN, ESPN2, TNT, TBS, Food, HGTV, Travel, Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, ABC Family, Disney, CNN, El Rey and Galavision in the foundation offering.
NBCUniversal is planning a comedy video subscription service including new episodes of Saturday Night Live and The Tonight Show, reports the Wall Street Journal. Price for the offering, which would also feature original content, could be $2.50-$3.50/month.

Tom Selleck will be back playing detective in Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ Jesse Stone: Lost in Paradise. The ninth installment of the franchise, based on the Robert B. Parker bestsellers, will be shot in Halifax, Nova Scotia and premiere in fall 2015.

Debmar-Mercury and the Fox Television Stations announced Fox acquired Comedy Central series Tosh.0. Reruns of the clip/sketch show will start airing in fall 2015 on stations in New York, LA, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas, D.C., Houston, Charlotte and Minneapolis, and are being sold nationally in other markets for airing as a late night strip and on weekends. “Tosh.0 is a terrific show, marketed creatively,” said Frank Cicha, SVP, programming, Fox Television Stations. “I love the scheduling flexibility this deal brings.”
Fuse is kicking off Upfront season with a programming slate targeting “New Young Americans,” culturally diverse tastemakers ages 18-34. Daily pop culture-focused White Guy Talk Show airs weeknights at 10:30p; premiering Thursday, April 9 at 11p is SKEE TV, offering music, trends and tech news with entrepreneur DJ Skee. The net will unveil a new look and feel in the fall, part of its expansion beyond music to include comedy, culture and lifestyle shows. Series in development include Hey!
