01/17/19: Sportradar is launching its new ad:s platform for sportsbooks

Good morning. It’s Thursday January 17, 2019 and this is your first early morning Sports briefing.

Sportradar announced the launch of ad:s, described as a new full-service marketing offer for sports betting operators, developing “in response to the strong demand and interest from the betting industry.” ad:s offers bookmakers a slate of marketing solutions that eliminates waste and streamlines their business with targeted spend on verifiable prospects that produce measurable results. In addition, ad:s solutions are embedded across Sportradar’s media products that further target desirable customers for bookmakers.
“Being the unequivocal leader in this industry, ad:s is a natural and necessary evolution of our global sports betting business that will help bring more customers to market for bookmakers, said Rainer Geier, who will oversee the operation. “ad:s works across all channels, but we are particularly excited by the proposition in digital where the pre-game, in-game and post-game opportunities allow us to develop really exciting and tailored offerings for any and every sports betting operator, no matter their size or environment.”

It is the end of an era as Bob Costas and NBC have reportedly agreed to mutually part ways, according to the New York Post. Final terms of a buyout have been reached between the two sides with Costas stating that “It’s all settled quietly and happily for all concerned.”
MLS formally added Austin FC as the league’s 27th club, with play set to begin in 2021. The club will become the city’s first team in a major professional sports league, playing in a privately funded $225 million soccer stadium at McKalla Place. Groundbreaking will begin this year on the 20,000-seat stadium.
The Professional Bowlers Association, United States Bowling Congress and Bowling Proprietors’ Association of America announced a multi-year agreement to include the USBC Masters and U.S. Open as major events on the Go Bowling! PBA Tour television package that is now running on FOX Sports. FOX Sports will cally the U.S. Open live on FOX from 2020 through 2022 and the USBC Masters live on FS1 from 2019 through 2022.
Univision is making history, announcing plans to feature a regular time slot for Liga MX Femenil matches on its platforms. The women’s soccer league will be seen on each Monday night of the 2019 Clausura schedule on UDN. The teams featured will include defending champions America, as well as Cruz Azul, Pumas UNAM, Toluca, Tigres UANL and Lobos BUAP. The action begins Jan. 21 when Tigres UANL host Atlas at 8:55p. In addition, women’s soccer will also be in the spotlight on UDN when the U.S. Women’s National team begins its 2019 campaign starting Saturday at 2:30p.
NBC Sports Group tees off on its coverage of the 2019 LPGA Tour season this week with the inaugural Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions, the first of 33 official events totaling 435 hours of tournament coverage this season, marking the highest number of events and most hours ever in a single calendar year for the LPGA Tour. For the first time, NBC will bookend the LPGA Tour season, beginning this week with the inaugural Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions and concluding with live coverage of the CME Group Tour Championship in November. NBC also will air live coverage of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and the AIG Women’s British Open in 2019, nearly doubling the number of live tournament hours on NBC.
In fighting news, ESPN+ gets its first crack at UFC with the debut of UFC Fight Night on ESPN+ on Saturday,  with main card bouts at 10p and early prelims at 6p prior to the ESPN television broadcast.
Meanwhile, Saturday also sees Turner’s B/R Live become the exclusive domestic destination for live coverage of ONE: ETERNAL GLORY at 8:30a from Istora Senayan, Jakarta. The event will mark the first ONE Championship event of the year and the first in a series of ONE competitions distributed via B/R Live. The next event, ONE: HERO’S ASCENT will be available on B/R Live on Jan. 25 at 7:30p.
