EXECUTIVE MOVES
NBCUniversal’s Laura Molen and Mark Marshall have been promoted to the new role of President, Advertising Sales and Partnerships, in charge of day-to-day national sales across the company’s portfolio, replacing a structure that had a sales leader for each vertical. Now, Molen will add cable entertainment, news advertising and digital partnerships to her lifestyle and Hispanic ad sales duties, while Marshall will head up sports, advanced ad sales and client partnerships in addition to entertainment and digital video. “Our industry changes every minute. As we focus attention on reimagining our audience first culture, plus developing partnerships across NBCUniversal and beyond, it became increasingly important to elevate leaders to be on the frontlines managing our sales teams,” said Linda Yaccarino, Chairman of Advertising & Client Partnerships, who will now have more time to focus on innovation and technology development. Yaccarino said Mike Rosen, EVP Advanced Advertising and Platform Sales, and Scott Schiller, EVP and GM, Marketing, have decided to leave the company.
 
Group Nine Media announced Jeff Siegel as Senior Vice President, Distribution. Most recently, Siegel was Head of Licensing and Syndication of Verizon’s Go90.

Laurie Rosenfield
has been elevated to Chief People Officer at CBS. Rosenfield joined the company in May. “We are very pleased to name Laurie to this new position as we continuereassess and strengthen the culture here at CBS,” said acting CEO Joe Ianniello. “Our employees are our most valuable asset, and this role has been created to ensure we remain steadfast in our commitment to putting our people first.” Anthony G. Ambrosio, CBS’s chief HR officer, will resign on November 1.

 
Playwire announced promotions: Anthony Alexander moves from VP of East to SVP of Sales for North America & LATAM; Nicholas Andryc from Sr. Director of Mid West to VP of Mid West Sales; Anthony Berrena from VP of Business Development to SVP of Global Revenue; and Scott Schroeder from Manager, Network Operations & Strategic Planning to Director of Network Operations. 9 Story Media Group also announced numerous changes in the executive ranks. Wendy Harris was promoted to SVP, Content and Creative Affairs; Marcy Pritchard joins 9 Story’s New York team as SVP, Business and Creative Affairs; Jennie Stacey has been upped to VP, Development, based in Dubliin; Sarah Wallendjack steps into the role of VP, Production and Development, NY; and Alex Breen has been elevated to VP, Interactive. Changes at 9 Story’s Marketing Team include Jennifer Ansley’s promotion to SVP, Marketing & Communications, and Gord Garwood to VP Creative Services. Promotions at 9 Story Distribution International include Alix Wiseman to SVP, Distribution & Acquisitions; Stephen Kelley to VP, Distribution (EMEA) and Federico Vargas to VP, Distribution overseeing Asia Pacific, Latin America & Iberia.
 
At 9 Story studio Brown Bag Films, Darragh O’Connell is now Group Creative Director, Cory Bobiak has been promoted to Creative Director (Toronto), Gillian Higgins is SVP, Production (Europe), Louise Cornally is SVP, Finance and Business Affairs and John Brady is now VP Production Technology.
 
Gerald Griffin has been appointed to the newly created position of Executive Vice President of Local and Regional Sales at Screenvision Media. Griffin previously served as Senior Vice President of Business Development & Strategic Partnerships for CBS Television Stations.


AppNexus
co-founder and CEO Brian O’Kelley is stepping down and will serve in an advisory role at AT&T-owned Xandr, which bought AppNexus in June. “As Brian and I discussed the best path forward, we made the decision together that he would transition out of the daily operations of AppNexus,” wrote Xander CEO Brian Lesser in a note to employees outlining executive changes.

 
Company vet Andrew Scott has been named WPP’s Chief Operating Officer, Lindsay Patterson was promoted to Chief Client Officer, and Stephen Pretorius has been tapped to serve as Chief Technology Officer.  
 
Sony Pictures Television promoted Elyse Seder to Senior Vice President, Reality & Syndication Programming. Seder will oversee U.S. development of SPT’s unscripted projects.


Chris Bettes
was promoted to Senior Vice President of Brand Marketing & Creative at Twentieth Century Fox Television. Bettes will be responsible for leading the creative and brand strategy for the worldwide marketing team.

 
Vilynx, the artificial intelligence company with a platform focused exclusively on media, appointed CNN/U.S. President Jon Klein as president. Klein will build out a U.S. presence for the company, which counts MSNBC, NBC News and other major broadcast media companies among the customers for its machine learning platform.  
 
Chris Thomas, BBDO CEO, Americas, is stepping down after nine years at the company. He will stay until a successor is found.
 
Tina Perry, Executive Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs and board member of OWN, has been named General Manager, effective January 2019. Perry replaces Erik Logan, leaving after seven years to join the World Surf League as President of Content, Media and WSL Studios.

elevated three execs to the post of Vice President, Ad Sales. Christine Olson will oversee the company’s Chicago-based team; Lisa Mallen the Eastern region from New Jersey to Florida; and Heath Pisarcik the Los Angeles-based team covering the Western region.

 
Kristin Robinson joined Shondaland as Vice President of Brand Marketing and Communications. Robinson was previously at OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network, where she led campaigns for the network’s drama series, specials and documentaries.
 
United Entertainment Group hired Michael Nuzzo as Senior Vice President, Executive Creative Director at the company’s NY headquarters. He joins from digital marketing agency 360i.
 
Kew Media Distribution appointed Graham Begg as Vice President, Business Development and Producer Relations. Begg previously established GB Media & Entertainment Consultants.
 
Woodcut Media named Koulla Anastasi, former Channel Director at A+E Networks UK, as Strategy and Development Consultant.
 
FOX Networks Group Content Distribution announced new hires: Enrique Juarez as Vice President Sales, Latin America and US Hispanic; Luis Gadea as Director Sales, Mexico, Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Panama; Joao Fonseca as Associate Director Sales, Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay; Greg Emson as Executive Director, Marketing; and Andrea Dunn as Vice President, Legal and Business Affairs. In addition, Tom Batemen was promoted to Vice President, Finance, managing global finance teams.

ITV Studios Global Entertainment appointed Louisa Forsyth as Vice President, Global Content, Scripted. She joined from the Corporate Affairs team at Sky.
 
Matt Mitchell was tapped to serve as Vice President, Sales at Simulmedia. Mithcell joins from 4 Insights, where he was Vice President of Sales.
 
Refinery 29 hired Ashley Miles as Chief Client Officer, Head of Advertising in North America. She last served as Executive Vice President of Sales and Brand Partnerships for the company.
 
BuzzFeed named Eric W. Muhlheim as Chief Financial Officer. He previously led the Corporate Strategic Planning and Consumer Products arms of The Walt Disney Company.


Mike Greco
is returning to MTV as Executive Vice President, Content Strategy and Business Planning, for MTV, VH1 and Logo. Greco, who most recently was EVP, Programming and Research at Discovery, first joined MTV in 2000.

 
Blue Ant Media announced that Laura Michalchyshyn has signed on as an original programming consultant/producer; Julie Chang has been appointed VP, International Co-productions; Dan Lubetkin has been promoted to Senior Vice President, U.S. Production & Development; and Sam Sniderman, Executive Vice President, Global Production has relocated to Los Angeles to bolster the global production unit’s profile in the U.S. market.
 
AMC Networks promoted Eduardo Zulueta to the newly-created position of President of AMC Networks International, overseeing AMCNI’s global operations. Zulueta, who currently oversees AMCNI’s Latin America and Southern Europe portfolio of channels, will assume his new role on November 1.
 
Conde Nast Chief Digital Officer Fred Santarpia is stepping down as of November 2. “Through dramatic upgrades to our digital products and performance, the ability to scale and monetize our audience and the development of critical digital partnerships, he successfully helped pave the way for a cohesive global effort and we will build on that foundation,” praised Conde Nast CEO Bob Sauerberg.
 
AGC Television hired Matt Bankston as Vice President, Scripted Television to oversee the company’s development and production of scripted television content. Bankston comes to AGC from EuropaCorp TV Studios USA, where as Vice President of Scripted Development.
 
Plimsoll Productions appointed Siobhan Logue as Executive Producer for Plimsoll Wales.


Dana McClintock
, former Executive Vice President, Communications, was upped to Executive Vice President and Chief Communications Officer of CBS Corp. She replaces Gil Schwartz, who is retiring on November 1.

 
Laurie Rosenfield, previously a human resources executive at CBS, has been named Chief People Officer. The role is considered key as the company works to shape its post-Les Moonves culture.
 
Nickelodeon named Susan Varga as Vice President, Global Live Entertainment. She most recently served as Executive Producer of Broadway’s The SpongeBob SquarePants Musical.
 
Essential Media Group appointed Brendan Dahill as General Manager and Executive Producer. Dahill joins from Gordian Media, the production company he launched in 2017 that became a joint venture with NBC Universal and Matchbox Pictures.
 
Magid appointed Kerri Cavanaugh as Senior Consultant, Media Strategy Group. She last served as Vice President of News for Tribune Broadcasting’s local stations in Indianapolis, WXIN-TV Channel 59 and WTTV-TV Channel 4.
 
Serial Box named Jeff Li as Chief Operating Officer. He had been Head of Ventures at NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment Networks.
